Just finished a video doctor appt with the P.A. in Silverdale to discuss the cortisone shot I got the day before Thanksgiving. Thankfully, I'll be getting another one January 4th in Poulsbo. I wasn't sure what to expect when I told them the first one only worked for a day. They must have to give second shots every now and again as there wasn't any hesitation about setting me up again. THANK GOODNESS! I don't know what I would have done if they said surgery was my only option.
I went to see my new doctor last week and had a ton of blood work done. I knew the numbers were going to be scary and they were. Oh well, such is my life. I have lost some weight since that appt and since she upped my b/p dosage a tad, I'm hoping those numbers will be better when I go in next week for followup. She told me I wasn't a real good candidate for surgery because of my age, my b/p numbers and my kidney numbers. Now apparently, my liver is getting into the act too. Such a joy.
I've got my fingers crossed that this January injection works. If it doesn't I may have to depend on my vape stick that I just bought. At least it helps most of the time.
I've been working steadily on my latest book and announced on FB today that I hoped to start selling it in January or Feb. I still need 6 or 7 photos that I'm tracking down and have to make one more trip to the research center for another obit I'd like to include. I ended up having to remove a few folks that I couldn't find obits for or whose obits said so little about them that I couldn't use them. I ended up with about 188 altogether and will probably be close to 100 pages. I've already gotten close to two dozen orders so I think I'll probably have 40 or 50 printed up. Won't be making any profit to speak of but I'm fine with that.
I still have to go back and reread and edit the whole thing but I like that part of the process. I noticed that everytime I wrote the month May, I would type Mary. Just one of those words I continually make a typo on. Another one is through and Townsend. I plan to use a website that I've used previously to publish a book but now I have to go back and study up on how to do it. I'm going to file all my family obits into my genealogy notebook. Been meaning to do that for a long time as they were scattered here and there and everywhere. The rest I suppose I'll just put in a large manila envelope for now.
Christmas wise, all my shopping is done. I don't plan on doing cards this year and I may never do them again. I always liked sending cards but postage is getting out of hand. A friend of mine took a package to her post office (in Issaquah) and stood in line for 45 minutes. The package was going to England but it wasn't heavy or large. The guy wanted $85 to mail it! She took the package home and will try to repackage and try again. I had taken 4 small envelopes (very light but a tad bulky) to the post office and ended up paying over $5 each! And then one came back because the person had moved. Sigh... I'm very thankful for Amazon.
Dec. 21 will be my Christmas celebration day. My daughter and her husband, son, and dog are coming and will take me to dinner. They'll stay in a motel and the next day she will visit her dad who lives two blocks from me so she can help him with moving boxes, paperwork, and other things he needs to attend to since his wife died.
Christmas day I plan on driving to the Community Center in Chimacum as they're giving free dinners out. You take them home and that's okay by me. Just hope we don't get any snow.
Here's some pictures I took this morning when I went downtown early.
a friend on FB told me Owners bought that Cracker Factory building and it’s a 3 story home.
Last time I was downtown, there was a huge tarp/tent over all the tables in this water street park
I was surprised to see a decorated tree at the bottom of the terrace
A friend sent me this photo of an old PT store asking if I knew whose it was. I didn't so I posted on FB. Some thought George Gunn's but I didn't think that was right. Another guy said Aldric's before they remodeled. Anyhow know?
I set up my card table this morning thinking I wanted to start another jigsaw but I knew I'd have to finish it before company comes on the 21st as it would be too crowded in here. I opted instead to just read if I wanted something to do. I've been very lazy about reading lately.
