Sitting here with the ABC nightly news on and am muting an awful lot of it. And not just the commercials. Am sick to death of all the drug ads but I'm also sick and tired of hearing the same news night after night. Like the boxed secret files they're finding in all kinds of politicians homes and offices. Good Lord! Why aren't they paying more attention when the terms of office are first handed over. And my guess is that Pres. Biden had no clue any of those things were even there. What possible reason would he have to hide them in secret? What is the matter with the reporters in this country? They're just trying to puff up their own importance. They all make me ill!
I woke up to no water in the apt. this morning. Some pipe in the activity room had broke and the housekeeper discovered it when she came in at 7 and turned on the water to fill a bucket. It came spraying out at her and completely soaked her dress. Luckily, her husband, the maintenance guy was down the hall so he could come and repair it.
I read on the bulletin board today that one of the residents has agreed to take over being the activity director. Will be interesting to see what she comes up with. If it's at all interesting, I might join in but in the past, those participating were those folks with memory problems and other issues. I keep pretty much busy on my own.
I spent the morning at the sewing machine and made good progress on two quilt square projects I have in the works. Then I came out to my jigsaw puzzle (1000 pc) but I got very few pieces today. Tomorrow maybe I'll move the pieces around my color and see if I can be more successful.
I also sat down at my computer to continue cleaning out files. Amazed me just how much crap I had that I didn't need. Lots of things in the "health" folder. Everything from my old blood tests to foods you should eat to be healthy. I was able to trim that folder down quite a bit.
I started watching "The Cardinal" on Hulu last night. It was familiar so I'm sure I've watched it before but I can't remember who the killer was so I'll keep on watching. There are at least 4 seasons so it will occupy me for a while.
My video doctor appt was cancelled until next week so I have to wait longer to get a referral to the back surgeon I want to visit. I'm halfway through one of the audio books I picked up at the library. It is finally getting good.
My grandson has been home sick. Mary got him into the doctor today. He has an ear infection and pink eye. She said Poppy was sticking close to him as he layed around in bed and on the couch. Didn't want to leave his side. That's so sweet.
Looks like I'm going to have to call the bank AGAIN tomorrow. I've had an ongoing problem with them not fixing my account online. The guy I talked to yesterday (probably the 3rd person) gave me the wrong email address. I tried a second email that Jenni told me to try but it came back too. Irritating.
I fried up radishes with a pork chop cut up last night and it was very tasty. Surprised me. Tonight was just a tv dinner but it was free and it was easy. I like that.
I hear Becky Fernandes is going to see about getting the mill luncheons started up again at Roadhouse. I hope so. Those were always fun and one of the few events I could attend and know just about everyone there.
My friend, Mary Gaboury, is in Vegas with her daughter today. Celebrating her 80th birthday that is tomorrow. I so hope she wins.
Well, I guess I'll go get my jammies on and settle into my recliner with my cross stitch project. First though, it's off to Youtube to find some video to post.
