Insomnia Strikes Again!

I don't understand how I can take an afternoon nap and drop off in seconds and then have to force myself up an hour later. I always feel like I could sleep two hours instead of one. But I get

up, feel drowsy for a half hour and look forward to bedtime. Last night I fought to stay up until 9 and when I hit the sack, I was sooooo tired. And then..... it was 12:30 and I was still awake. Irritated beyond words!  I decided the hell with it and got up. I generally put off getting up as my hip hurts so terribly bad for a good 10 or 15 minutes until I'm moving. Anyhow, up I got and made some cocoa and had a piece of the banana bread I had made earlier. Surfed online a bit (nothing there) so I settled in to play solitaire. At 2:30 I went to my recliner and was finally able to drop off. But, I was awake at 7 and couldn't get back to sleep so I again gave it up and got up.

It's 10:30 now and guess who's tired and wants a nap. Sigh...I had to make a run to Safeway and QFC so I did that after washing up the dishes and straightening up a bit here and there. Decided to buy some melatonin and see if that helps. I never used to have this problem. I could go to bed and be asleep within minutes. I wonder what happened. Whatever it is, I'm not happy about it! And then to top it off, I had nightmares. What's going on with that?! This particular one had my two youngest in it. They were both toddlers and while I won't bother you with the details, it was upsetting to me.

Yesterday I finished pinning my crumb square quilt. Used the large table downstairs. About killed my back and the batting I ordered from Amazon wasn't exactly what I wanted. It's nice enough (cotton) but pretty linty. Next time I'll order plain ole polyester stuff. Planned on starting to tie it today but I'm too tired to put in the effort so I'll just try to finish my jigsaw instead.

I asked the manager yesterday if I could use a room once my books arrive to have a little social get together with cookies and punch to hand them out. She asked me if I would be willing to give a presentation on my book so they could put it on the activity schedule and the residents could attend. I don't really have any idea how many of the local folks are coming to pick their copy up. Could be 5 or 6 or it could be a couple dozen. At any rate, I said sure I can talk about my book. Should be fun.

I bought the plastic cups for punch this morning and some cookies and crackers but I have no idea how long before the books will arrive. Maybe this week, maybe two weeks. I do have the envelopes all addressed ready to mail off.

Took a ride through town after my two grocery stops hoping I'd see something to take a picture of. Found these deer on Walker Street.

Here's a video I love to watch. JJ Cole is someone I only recently discovered (listening to Pandora music on my roku)  I adore his music. Sadly, he's not with us anymore.

This next video is an hour long so you probably won't want to watch the whole thing. Buck Ellard is a local guy and quite good. I picked this one because my nephew is playing drums with him. Buck has since, however, found another drummer.
