Saturday Morning

My friend, Ann, came over to visit yesterday. She lives in Issaquah and we exchanged our Xmas gifts. Went to lunch at the Roadhouse and she was nice enough to tag along with me while I did half a dozen errands. So nice to have someone with me as I'm usually all alone in the car.

We went to the post office to mail off twenty of my books. Postage ended up costing $73! Sure glad I opted to have people pay postage for their book. This coming Friday I'm having a book party downstairs. Will hand out to all those local folks who bought a book and will give a little talk about the book. Cookies and juice too. Should be fun. A woman down the hall (college teacher and nurse) had written a medical terminology book and gave an hour lecture on it a few days ago. I was pleased to see that we had enough chairs in the activity room for everybody to sit. About 20 came to that talk.

I went to the Research Center yesterday to donate one of my books to their library and I made a quick Safeway run too.  Not sure why but my right hip was killing me and stayed horribly sore all day and night. So much so I could barely walk even with the walker. I ended up coming to the recliner at 10 pm because it even hurt to try and lay in bed. Discouraging but at least I was able to sleep in the chair. I'm going to do that again tonight.

After my friend left, I got my pjs on and was going to rest until bedtime. But alas....my sister called in some distress. Said she was having bad spasms and her neck hurt real bad. I went down there and decided I needed to call 911. They came and took her to the ER and I came home with her dog. I assume she'll be released today. If the ambulance doesn't take her home, I guess I'll be going to pick her up. I pray my hip behaves so I can manage.

I'm still waiting for that surgeon's office in Silverdale to call and give me an appt. It's been 9 days and I think I'll give them 5 more and then call myself. So irritating to have to wait every time you need to see a doctor.

Nothing much planned for the weekend. Will probably finish my jigsaw puzzle and plop myself in the recliner to watch tv and read. Looking forward to the super bowl of course and golf!

Here's the picture I took of my friend, Ann. We graduated together.
