Decided to run downtown and buy a gift for a woman who is turning 100 this week. I kind of knew what I wanted to buy but wouldn't you know...the damn store was closed. I went next door thinking maybe I could pick up something there but they didn't open until 10:30. Then I headed over to the local pharmacy. Their gift selection was over priced so I just picked up a small bag of candy and two cards. Went to checkout and my phone fell out of my purse and cracked.Second time I've cracked it but thankfully, it's still working. I want to buy a new one when I get to Vancouver.
The kid who waited on me was less than cordial and just pushed my stuff at me and didn't even ask if I wanted a bag. Last time I'll frequent that store. The store was pretty empty and I predict that sooner or later it's gonna fail.
I had gone into the store with my walking stick as I figured that would be enough. Well, it wasn't. My low back started to hurt like crazy so I couldn't browse anymore. It did warn me, however, that when I go to alumni next month, I'd best use my walker and not depend on my walking stick. I love my walker. It allows me to sit down and walk as much as I desire.
I rearranged my living room this morning. The birds just above my recliner (where I had gone at 6 a.m. to finish sleeping) were busy scratching and moving around in their nest in the eave above my window. I moved my recliner across the room. I know I'll still hear them but I'm hoping it won't be quite as noisy. Doesn't really matter, I suppose as I only have 33 more days to live here. So excited to move.
Went over to visit Bill and Teresa Arey yesterday. She's taking my little tv and he's taking me to lunch. Oh boy. Not much going on around here this week. I'm about to fix me a BLT for lunch.Friday we'll have a birthday party for a 100 year old woman and then my calendar is empty until June 10th when my cousin arrives from KY again and we go to the social hour for alumni.
I took about 60 pictures at the parade but they were all pretty boring so I deleted them. Did save some of Sharon Sofie and Gail Lindseth leading the Rakers Club, though.
