Fun Day in Vancouver

First of all, Andy was able to hook up my dvd. He ened up having to take the tv off the wall and reattaching the tv stand so it can it on top of my bookcase. Just wouldn't go up without a fight.  So excited to be able to watch my DVDs now as I wanted to rewatch the Sopranos.I have all the seasons. Mary has a ton of movies too so I'll be looking over their stash.

Mary, Jake and I went to the library. Mary had never been there and was surprised to find out it was near some pool she frequents now and then. It was a nice library but I had a heck of time standing on my feet too long with just my cane. I do better with my walking stick and better yet with my walker. I did see a couple of women using walkers so next time I go (I think I can find it on my own) I intend to take my walker so I can browse easier and sit down when I need to. Here's some pictures I took of the place.

The movies you can check out.  Oh boy!

From there we went to the Dollar Store and Trader Joes which was next door. I just waited in the car. Then we drove to Costco and was so relieved that they had electric carts. I was so happy. I zoomed all over that store but only ended up buying three items -- a large bag of walnuts, a bag of berries, and a box of Jimmy Dean croussant breakfast sandwiches. I love those things.

Got home and much to my delight, I finally got my cleaning deposit back from the manager at Disco View. I thought she was going to take $125 out for cleaning (although I left the place spotless) but she not only gave me my whole deposit, I got rent back for the six days of June I wasn't there. Almost $1000. So relieved. I intend to eventually buy me a new recliner.

At the library I got three books. An audio book called The Home Place and a book by Dean Koontz and another called We must be Brave. Mary took the back way home from Costco so I got to see a lot of countryside. She said the Costo was actually in Camas. I told her some day I wanted to see downtown Camas. Just because.

Mary is leaving tomorrow for Port Townsend. Is taking Tami Hewitt out for her birthday dinner and spending the night, The next day she'll go to a baby shower in Hadlock. I think Jake is traveling with her so it will just be me, Andy, and Poppy holding down the fort.

I've got a puzzle set up to work on and have a cross stitch kit in the process too. Yesterday I called up the Senior Center and signed up for two classes. They cost $2 a piece. First one is called Color your Canvas. You don't have to bring any supplies or have any talent in art.The other is Happy Crafts Club. I've got a while to wait for each --Aug 10 and Aug 28. I'm waiting on a call back for another club I thought I might be interested in - a mystery book club. I'm also thinking I'll go play some cribbage and pinochle although I'll need a little education in both. Been a while since I played either. There's also a memoir writing club I may look into. Figured if I'm ever going to make friends down here, I'm gonna have to step outside my door and drive.

Sent for some stickers at Amazon to put on envelopes. (my envelopes never seal worth a darn) Anyhow, these stickers are really cool. Here's some of the sayings:

Better Days will come
keep moving forward
Live in the moment
Sometimes the hardest thing and right thing are the same
Good vibes only
YOu are stronger than you think
Oh what a beautiful morning, oh what a beautiful day
fortune favors the brave
Just be positive
Get well soon
Do not stop until you're proud
shine like a star
do all things with kindness
shine like a star
Be the light
everything will be alright
the best way to get something done is to begin

Well, I guess that's it for now. Gonna turn on the tv and see what I can find. I've become interested in another Alaska survivor show.
