Snowy surprise

I imagine a whole lot of folks woke up around here wondering what that snow was doing out there!  Sometimes I think this end of Port Angeles gets hit a little harder than other areas. The roads are clear, though, so I'll just bide my time for the rest of it to melt all around the house.  I did have to make a quick run to Jenni's when she locked herself out of the house but she's only a mile away and the roads were fine.

I've got the heat on in this room right now and I'm toasty warm. Should turn it down but everytime I do, I get cold in no time at all.  I've had a halfway productive day.  Sent out about 16+ little surprise packages to various family and friends. Would have done more but the postal service is becoming more and more greedy each year.  I have a small pan of homemade soup simmering on the stove. Needed to use up the leftover rice from the casserole I made yesterday with mushroom soup and chicken.  I love easy.  I also finished off the second half of the cake mix box I had up in the pantry. Whipped up a dozen lemon cupcakes with coconut sprinkled on top.

I've been thinking about my Christmas gift list and most folks are going to get homemade things.  Some are better than others but my talent is often up and down when I try new things.  I spent a lot of yesterday playing around with quilt squares and that's always fun for me.  I think I'm going to head out to the kitchen table and see about painting a few rocks. At least the base coat. I've got some big ones waiting for me on the floor and I'd like to get them decorated.

Had old Merv Griffin shows on the Amazon network but it was a huge disappointment. At least the episode today.  Had the Everly Brothers (who I've always loved) but it blacked out their singing and just had a short interview with them. Then Richard Pryor got all kinds of air time and he's an idiot. Always was.  Then Mr. Ego himself came on and I was flabbergasted at how in love with himself he was. Meaning Jerry Lewis. He's also not funny.  Course these guys are all dead now so I should probably be kinder.  Everyone was smoking.  Yesterday Merv had Mariska Hargitay  from Law and Order on (when she was about 3 or 4) along with her brothers and her mom, Jayne Mansfield.  That was kind of fun to watch.  Sometimes I get kind of discouraged at the programming Netflix offers these days but if I'm persistent, I can usually come across something on Amazon that suits my fancy.

My brother, Les, posted a picture of himself at halloween and I was surprised at how much he resembled our dad.  Course that hat half covers his face but I can still see our dad in him.
Here's how the yard looked this morning.

And here's a picture posted by my former neighbor who now lives in Indiana. They were a coast guard couple and kept ownership of their house so they rent it out. I love watching her kids grow up as they were quite small when she left. Here's one of her and her dog at halloween.
Saw this on Facebook yesterday. Always love the Trump ones.
Okay. Back to work I go.
