Quiet Saturday at Home

Well, let's see now...what have I accomplished so far today?  Washed a sink of dishes 'cause I'm usually too tired to do them after supper the night before. Plus, there's usually not enough to waste my time on.  I wrote an email, I ran to Safeway, I play solitaire, and I switched where I have two floor lamps in the living room.  Otherwise, I've been holed up in the sewing room.  I did take a nap after lunch.
I've been determined to work steadily on using up the little odds and ends of material that I keep finding holed away in various baskets, boxes, and cubbyholes.  I've made a couple table tops and three quilts (all kinda small but they're still quilts!)  Now I'm working on just getting some quilt tops put together. I'll work on the batting and backing another time. The "already cut out squares" I've found will be the center of some quilts that I put borders around to make them larger.
this shot turned out a tad blurry for some reason. The material is ironed onto this material that has glue on it and then I'm going to zigzag them together. Not sure how that's going to work out but I'll find out eventually.

Both the pieces above will have several borders sewn around them to make them blanket size.
This one is really time consuming as the squares are tiny but it will definitely look like an old time quilt once I'm done.  I've been watching Breaking Bad through this process to help me stick with it.

The road work is still going on at First Avenue so I plan on staying clear. The PDN ran a picture of the backup a few days ago. The one I was stuck in.
Saw a sad picture on Facebook today that appeared in the paper yesterday I think. Eddie Radley was killed. I went to school with his older  brother and sister. She lives here in Port Angeles now.

I settled in to watch a little golf at noon but all the players had to leave the course because a thunder storm was coming in. Guess I'll try again tomorrow.  I've also recently become interested in watching baseball. Never thought that would happen this late in the game but then I never thought golf would something I'd tune in too.

I've sure had my problems this week with bottles. I fixed up home made weed killer and not one of my three squirt bottles will work!  Oh, I guess I already complained about that, haven't I?  I just noticed this pump bottle of hand lotion I have is 1/3 full at the bottom but the damn thick cream won't go through the stem so I'm having to hit it hard upside down to try and get some out.  I'm not about to toss it when there's that much cream left down there.  I'll certainly pay more attentiont to the next hand lotion I invest in. And I have to have lotion these days. My hands look and feel dreadful.

I finished watching the old Groucho Marx episodes on Amazon last night.  Was interesting to go look up some of the people that appeared.  One young good looking guy (who acted silly) wanted to be an actor. I found him on IMDB and it said he appeared on The Real McCoys, Bachelor Father and Jack Benny. He also was a campaign manager for Reagan died of a stroke in 2003 in Pennsylvania.
Phyllis Diller was a contestant too and she did a short routine of her act.  She was 33 at the time.

Well, I think I'll go see what I  can find to watch on tv now.  Heading to the doctor Monday afternoon with my fingers crossed that a shot might help my hip and low back.  If not, well...I'll be a person using a cane from now on. Sigh....
