Joyce & Mary's Latest Adventure

Mary and I decided we'd hit Beckett's Point today since neither of us had been out there in years. I didn't realize until I got home and downloaded my pictures that my camera lens had a big old smudge on the right hand side. Darn it!  Hate it when that happens. I need to pay more attention!

Anyhow, we drove down the steep hill, remembering our teenage years and the parties we used to attend. Course that was 60 years ago and the scene has changed a lot since then.  We couldn't remember where anybody lived for sure but we saw Plut's name on their house so we could ID that one.

Even though there were 'Private Property' and 'No Trespessing' signs everywhere, we still felt it necessary to venture onto the beach to pick up some rocks that I can paint later.

This road that turns left after you come down the steep hill is where my aunt and uncle (The Areys) had their family cabin for many many years.  I had Mary take a picture of me in front of it as I have an old black and white photo where family members posed back in the 50's. Or was it the 40s? I don't know.

The cabin has been remodeled like many of them down there. Pictured here is:
top row: George & Lorraine Blankenship , holding Denny I think; and Clyde Barr (aunt Lillian's dad)
next row: Jim & Lillian Blankenship and her mom Irene
next row: Aunt Velna Walker (with hat but not sure who's on her lap) Maybe me? Next to her is Aunt Elva Arey and maybe her son, Bill. Although I suppose it could be Lee. In front in Joan Arey Dubberly, Bill and Lee's older sister. Only I don't think she was a Dubberly yet.

Next door to the Arey's old cabin I found Gary Logue and his wife.

After we left there, we decided to stop at Cape George and see if Cathi White was home. Was delighted to find our there and welcoming.

Cathi's house is so beautiful. I love just sitting on her deck and enjoying the view.

Her friend, Jim, was there too so I got to meet him for the first time.

We headed back to town and stopped at Safeway and QFC for a few items. As usual, I was tired and happy to be home again.  Gonna' kick back and watch a little golf now.
