Kind of Warm Out There

I had a few errands to run this morning and it ended up being a lot hotter the longer I was out there. Went to a resident coffee  get together T 10:30 (outside) but I had already had a cup of java so I just had some water. More men turned out this time but no new ones from the usual collection of guys showing their face.  I suspect one of them is being fancied from what I've observed. hee hee  I wonder if he's aware of it.  I'm guessing there were 10 or 11 in the group today.  I left after a half hour. Did offer my services if anyone needed a ride somewhere. It appears management isn't in any particular hurry to accommodate residents with that perfectly fine van that has been sitting for months on end.

From there I drove down to my sisters as she had a large box of clothes she had sewn for Indian orphans and wanted me to deliver it to this lady at the library.  Guess she heard about it through the Baptist church but she's grown weary of sewing and doesn't want to do it anymore.  Even though she called ahead, the girl at the door didn't know a thing about it and didn't want to touch it. I wasn't about to cart it back to my car so I left it under a table and told her she could look into it later as my sister had already made the arrangements with somebody there.

I drove out to North Beach but I would have had to walk three blocks to the beach (popular place leaves little parking anymore) and I was too tired to do that. Besides walking downhill is harder.  I left there and drove over to Ralph Nite's place to give him a painted rock. He saw me outside so I had him come to my car and pick out the one he wanted.  Then it was down to Don's Pharmacy as I needed a better coffee pot. Found a 4-cup one for $22 and left a rock on the sidewalk near there.

Then it was off to Penny Saver to meet my sister, Carol Plaster and Teresa Arey for lunch.  Teresa forgot and didn't show up (which Janie expected) but we had a nice visit. Carol lent me two more jigsaw puzzles to work so I'm excited that my supply is well stocked. I gave her one of my crumb quilt bags for her birthday which is next week.

In the Penny Saver parking lot, I saw a little park next door near the Co-op building so I walked over there to look it over and take a picture. Also took one of the outdoor seating at the Co-op, formerly the bowling alley.  I left a rock in that park too and then took a shot of the mini park across the street from Penny Saver on the water side.  Seems like it would be a hard place to relax and enjoy lunch, though, as that particular corner is very busy and noisy.

While I was getting a shot of the park above, a girl in a truck next to me asked me if I was interested in trees. I told her no, I  just liked to take pictures around town and post on my blog. Then I asked her if she watned a rock. haha   She was surprised when I opened up the back of my car and she saw 3 dozen pretty rocks sitting there. She chose one and told me her name way Jay.

I have to leave in about an hour and a half for my doctor appt. Glad it's just down the street. Think I'll wear shorts this time. Too hot to wear long pants and nobody notices the old fat lady waddling along anyhow.

I told my neighbor to pick up my dinner tray as I'll still be at the doctor's office. I'm thinking I might make a poached egg on toast for dinner. We don't get poached eggs here and that's really my favorite. I'll pull a couple of bran muffins out of the freezer while I'm at it.

Nothing much on my agenda for the next few days although I am going to hit Barbara Shaw's garage sale Saturday morning. Think I'll see if Mary G. wants to tag along.  And I'll try North Beach again as I'm out of  rocks.

Guess I'll fill my vitamin cups now since I can't think of any other chores that need doing.  Tomorrow will be a day of photo sorting of my collection online. Always a fun project.
