Some Days you love staying home

Yesterday Mary Gaboury and I took a drive around the county to take pictures and have a picnic. I posted a bunch on Facebook. Nothing special about them but it's always fun to download on my computer when I get home and see what I got. Here's one of Mary in front of the Worthington Mansion in Quilcene. Classmate  Ellen Jenner grew up there. See more at worthingtonparkquilcene.org.

This morning we drove to Sequim to hit the big box stores.  Only need a few items but it sure was hard work getting there and back.  Road construction had traffic backed up on Eaglemount for miles on our way home. Glad we went earlier although we did have to wait a while both ways.  It's the second time I've gone to Walmart need black embroidery thread --and they had none!  I took my walker along as I knew I was going to have to walk the entire length of the store.  I picked up coffee too since I didn't want to go all that way and check out with just two little skeins of thread.

I split the toilet paper package with Mary that we got at Costco and ended up grabbing a package of granola as a treat. It's delicious in yogurt. It came in two sack packages so I gave Mary one.  She needed a certain lawn chair at Home Depot that Dave wanted so he can make a stationary bike out of. They had just one left and it was $10 off so she was happy about that.  We headed for home but knew we were going to be sitting in traffic again (road work continues through tomorrow) so we drove thru McDonalds for french fries and rootbeer to  make the wait less stressful.

I plan on staying in the next few days. Got a jigsaw in the works and might work on another round of rock painting. Sue and Paul went to the Elwha River and brought me a big ole box full.  This is my latest bunch.

Ordered HBO a couple nights ago and am excited about the new stuff I'm gonna get to watch the next few weeks. I usually only keep it for a month or two. Right now I'm hooked on "I Know this much is true" starring Mark Ruffalo.  It's from a book by Wally Lamb.

Well, can't think of much else to yak about today. I seem to post on Facebook more frequently than my blog.  Hope you're surviving the hot temps while wearing a mask.
