Jenni and Maddie stopped by for a little while yesterday and I was finally able to show them my apartment.
This morning the maintenance guy was busy lopping limbs off the tree outside my window. Irritating to say the least and he didn't appreciate me asking him why that was necessary. "company policy to have everything six feet from the building" was the reply. Typical answer to just about everything around here. I picked up Mary Gaboury around ten this morning and decided it was time I learned how to use the GPS feature on my phone. It was so easy I'm embarrassed that I fought learning how to do it. Our first stop was at Joanne & Greg Gilles' new home in Port Ludlows. He has been working HARD to get the front and back yards looking like something out of a magazine. So beautiful.
Their house is a delight. My favorite rooms are the sewing room and the office. Especially the sewing room. Looks out on a great view and is so large and handy. The living room is spacey too with a large entertainment center.
She keeps busy, with among other things, quilting. She had some real beauties displayed like this flower one that various family members worked on.We all left there (in two cars) and drove over to visit Alyce Hansen. She's been at her place on the water for decades and what a view! She's a remarkable woman. Has traveled the world and told us about her trip to Egypt. She's been a master knitter all her life and can do all kinds of needlework. She showed us this family picture from the early 1900's that she hopes to donate to a museum in Oregon. She served us blackberry cobbler right out of the oven with vanilla ice cream. To die for!Her cat, Tigger, joined us on the deck for a while too. She got him as a kitten and he's 16 lbs. now!We all posed for a picture before leaving.
As we were climbing in our cars, she pointed out a diesel tank sitting nearby that she'd like to get rid of. I'm sure she wouldn't ask too much. It's in good shape and has only held diesel. I told her I'd post it on Facebook so message me if you're interested and I'll hook you up with Alyce.
It was a tiring morning and afternoon. I suppose because I didn't sleep all that well. Hopefully tonight will be different. No plans to speak of for the Labor Day weekend. Looking forward to golf on tv as I work on my latest jigsaw puzzle.
