I just finished running errands and I'm always happy when that's behind me and I can stay home the rest of the day. I stopped by Judi Robbins' place and she gave me a quick haircut. So thankful she's willing to take a drop-in. Next was Penny Saver to buy my lotto ticket for the next ten draws and ended up at Safeway where I only spent $10 but needed cash so I have some green stuff in my wallet. I drove thru the bank drive-thru first thing, though, as I was getting low on quarters for the laundry. Looks like it's going to be another nice day. I don't have any particular chores on my to-do list since I washed a load of clothes late yesterday afternoon. I'll probably settle in at the sewing machine for a while and think about setting up a new jigsaw puzzle.
Talked to Mary Gaboury five minutes ago and they're sitting in the Phoenix airport for four hours before they land in Yuma where they'll stay until next May. I'll be taking my sister to Sequim one day next week for another dental appt and a vet appt for her dog, Lucy. Am hoping I can hit Walmart too as I need a few things. I was overdressed for our trip there yesterday and it got too hot to be out walking around. I did manage a quick walk thru at Michael's and got my card stock so I can begin my latest project. Need to buy some more, I think. We went to Burger King for lunch and ate in the car in the Dollar Tree parking lot as I had to pick up about ten items.
For some reason, I was really worn out at the end of the day. I've been a tad under the weather since Sunday when I got hit with a flu bug (or food poisoning). Dreadful business. Three hours of puking my guts out and then three more hours of activity at the other end. Such a joy to be a human sometimes.
I finished watching 'The Son' on Hulu last night. Two seasons worth of 20 episodes. Man, was it a good show! Starred Pierce Brosnan and covered his life from boyhood as a Commanche slave to his end when he was an oil barron in Texas. One of the best since Lonesome Dove. Tonight I'm starting Fargo which is also on Hulu. Thank you Jenni for letting me use your subscription.
The lady below me is gone now so a lot of the door slamming that was driving me nuts is absent. I'm kind of hoping her place stays empty for a while. The one next to me on my bedroom wall is empty and the one across from my door is empty too. I did hear someone is moving into an apt. down the hall soon. The apt. I almost took in place of this one.
I managed to get two small quilt tops sewn together yesterday and the day before so at some point, I will clear the table I'm using here in the living room and see if I can't get the batting and backing on. I stopped at Goodwill in Sequim yesterday and luckily found a queen size blue flannel sheet that was on sale for a buck. I was thrilled. I can use it for backing on both quilts I think.
While sitting in the car waiting for my sister's dental appt to be over, I was entertained by this old guy sitting near Safeway's entrance who was playing guitar and harmonica and singing country songs. At one point, another guy (wearing Husky purple) stopped to sing with him and dance. I brought out my cell phone to video them but apparently, I didn't hit record and I didn't get my movie. Darn it!
Here's a picture of Mary and Andy's front yard. She says Jake is loving the whole Halloween experience and the decorations involved.
Well, it's noon time so I think I'll eat that hamburger they served for dinner last night but I wasn't in the mood for as it was too soon after eating at Burger King. Below are two things I found amusing on Facebook.
