Thursday and Sunny

Another nice crisp day. I know they won't last much longer but I do love autumn time.  I've been keeping busy.  Got 11 little gifts wrapped up that I'll share with various friends closer to the holidays.  Also set up a new jigsaw puzzle so it'll be sitting there waiting for me when the mood strikes.

Joanne Lammers (out on Hastings) invited me over for tea with her and Polly Rogers so we had a fun visit. I'm going to start playing cards with their group. Funny how good tea tastes when other people make it. Here's a photo I took on the way home.  I knew there had to be an easier way to get to her place from my apartment and I discovered (on the way home; not on the way there) that I could go up Discovery Road and turn on Jacob Miller. I should have known that but when you haven't lived in a town for a long time, you can forget routes. I actually left town in 1991 when I moved to Hadlock. Then I left there in 2002.  Man!  Time flies.

I've been busy sewing this week. Tomorrow I'll clear off the table and try to get the flannel blanket I picked up at Goodwill attached to the two small quilts. I hate this part but they're small so maybe it won't be that hard of a job. I've got a new jigsaw set up too so there's always something in the works.

I heard there's a new roundabout up by the courthouse area. Think I'll go look it over tomorrow. Just what we don't need.  They're also talking of putting one in at the entrance into town out by the welcome signs and another  down by Penny Saver. I think.  Doesn't make any sense but then they have those roundabouts in places that I think are stupid!

I broke down and ordered some clothes out of a women's catalog that keeps showing up in my mailbox. I needed what I ordered but I've been putting it off over and over again everytime I saw the prices. How did one pair of PJ bottoms get to be $20?  I could probably make them myself but by the time I bought material, pattern, and elastic, it would cost me more.  Everything seems to be higher than it used to be. Like bagels. I could go on and on but what's the use?!

I've got golf on right now and that's helping keep me calm. I won't watch the debate tonight.Too aggravating. I already know I don't want Trump. Just have to hope that most of the country feels the same.  It's going to be a real circus once the election is over.  I can hear it now. If Trump loses, he'll raise hell that he was robbed and it was illegal and that will continue for months.

Watched a good movie on Amazon Prime the other night. THEM THAT FOLLOW.  Surprised me how many films comedian Jim Gaffigan has been in. He was a hillbilly mountain man married to Olivia Cole in this one about religious folks using snakes.  Fascinating.   I like a lot of the shows on Sundance and Showtime too that take place in foreign countries.  I've seen beautiful scenes from around the world.  Sometimes the scenery is way better than the story line.

Well, I guess I didn't have much to yak about, afterall. Joanne gave me a bunch of old mill pictures so I'm gonna start scanning them in so I can share on Facebook.  Here's some pictures I saved that I saw on FB earlier this week.

I love these colorful autumn shots.  Here's another of a lizard that turns into a flower to camoflauge himself.
I came across a show on one of my channels that was about "how things are made." I'm going to go back and find it again as it was very interesting but I was only half listening as I was doing something else.

And here's a cartoon that I really identified with from my younger days.
Newspaper had a picture of the new Aldrich store open for business. Man, does it look different from my childhood and teenage years.
I think it's gonna be an early bedtime trip tonight. I tossed and turned last night from 10 until after 1. Hate it when that happens. I may have to start using my CBD oil more frequently. I 've been saving it for those nights when I'm really hurting.    Going to share a "dancing" video from YouTube now on my Facebook page. I picked 7 dancers I like and am putting them on one at a time for the next 7 days.

Think I'll go find a couple oldies to post  since I don't have that much of interest to share today.
