Gees! I haven't posted since Oct. 22nd. I've got to try and stay on top of my blog better. It's been a stressful week. I was so sick and tired of not feeling well and having "bathroom issues" that I decided I needed to bite the bullet and get that damn colonoscopy off of my to-do list. I wasn't actually due for one until next November as insurances sometimes won't pay unless you wait ten years. I felt I had enough issues that I could move it up and still be covered. If they do end up denying it, I'll have to learn how to go through the process of fighting it.
And just this minute I felt something under my shirt and discovered two "thingies" the nurses forgot to take off me. I also had an endoscopy.
Much easier way to go; get it all done at once. The upper test showed a hiatal hernia; the bottom test showed diverticulitis. Neither is life threatening and he said I was actually pretty free of polyps or anything that looked suspcious. That's a relief but now I need to figure out why my bowels are always making my life hell. I suspect I'd better keep a detailed food diary and see if it's dairy or gluten. At least to start. Probably better continue to stay off coffee for a bit too.
I am so tired. Knew I would be as my sleeping wasn't all that great last night. I plan on doing pretty much nothing the rest of the day. Did work on my latest jigsaw puzzle a bit and rearanged a few things in the apartment that I started thinking on when I was bathroom sitting. My kitchen is tiny and the counter space is limited so I keep changing where I put things hoping to free up more space. Today I moved the micowave back where it's been a couple times, and moved all the soaps and cleaners under the sink so I can put the dish strainer under there when it's not holding dishes. I also moved the coffee pot and toaster to a small counter in the corner. Then I put a tablecloth on the fold up table I have in the kitchen area and put a pretty tablecloth on it and moved a second kitchen chair next to the table. In the bedroom, I moved two bins of material over by three other bins near the window and on the side of my bed that I never go to until I make the bed. Little steps here and there help me economize on space.
I have nothing on my calendar until Thanksgiving so I think I'll work on some new projects. Maybe some crumb quilt piecing since I finished the two little quilts I was working on. I've got a jigsaw in the works and once it's done, I'm going to set up my rock painting again.
Catie came to visit me last Sunday and helped me so much on various questions I had with my computer and cell phone. Just amazes me how quickly she can fix anything. And what she taught me is so appreciated as they were little things that were driving me nuts. She also brought her watercolor paints and showed me how to get started on that. I have some watercolor paints but they've been sitting on the back burner as I wasn't sure how to proceed.
When I watch night time tv, I work on a counted cross stitch or crocheting. Unless I'm especially tired and then I sit there like a lump. I recently watched The Trouble with Maggie Cole on PBS. Quite good. I subscribed to Showtime and Sundance for a couple months as Amazon Prime was offering it for 99 cents for 60 days. I think I've pretty much seen what I want to see so I'll be cancelling before they charge me the regular price. By the way, this is why I haven't been blogging. I'm boring.
Tomorrow is election day and now the real circus begins. I can't imagine that Trump will win but who knows. A large section of our population seems to have lost their way. And if Biden is declared the winner, I can hear the Donald now. IT WAS RIGGED! I WAS ROBBED! HOAX! And sadly, a whole lot of people will agree. I think what puzzles me the most is those folks who think he's great. I get that he's gonna appeal to some but I'm surprised every single time when I hear of friends and family that I like and have respect for who come out waving the Trump banner. I'll never understand it. But enough on that sad subject. We're in for weeks, if not months of sad sad news happening across the country.
Thanksgiving I'll be going up to Port Angeles for dinner with Jenni, Wayne, and Hunter. Maddie is eating with her fiancee's family and will spend Christmas with her family. Mary, Andy, and Jake are coming too. I plan on spending the night since Maddie's bed will be free so I don't have to worry about driving home in the dark. We're going to celebrate Jake's birthday too since his real birthday comes two days before Christmas and it's too hard for family to travel to Renton at that time of year. Catie is going to Florida with her boyfriend that weekend.
I've been making and setting aside Christmas presents early. I always do that. I'm hoping Jenni will let me bring theirs up early to store at her house in case the weather is icky Christmas week and it's hard to travel. I won't drive on ice or snow. Yeah, I plan ahead. Drives my family nuts.
Here's some pictures Mary posted on her FB page recently: (more interesting than mine)
this pipe was how they gave out candy at their porch
Catie is quite a good photographer and I saw this one on her FB page of her cat, Chonkers. He's weird. She has to take him outside to pee. Won't use the litter box and he doesn't meow like a cat either. He squeaks.
The picture that tickled me on FB was this one:
Captioned: What? You let the cat do it!I also saw these photos on a FB segment that fascinated me so I saved most of them and decided to post on my blog. Before and after........
I couldn't tell for sure who this was?
