I picked up Barbara Shaw around 10 and we headed to Sequim. My neighbor, Trish, was along as I was dropping her off downtown where she planned to take the bus home. Was really surprised to see the little house next to the "pink house on San Juan" where I used to live was gone and concrete was poured for a new place. I'll take pictures again once it's finished. A classmate (John O'Brien) lived there so I sent him these photos on Facebook.
This is at the bottom of 19th where you'd turn left on San Juan Avenue.
Barb and I stopped at the Dollar Tree first and I figured I'd pick up ten things on my list. I found a few things I didn't know I needed and ended up buying 30 items. Very pleased with all my purchases. They had marshmellow cream in a jar and evaporated milk so I bought one of each so I can make at least one batch of fudge at Christmas.
Walmart wasn't too terribly crowded so I was able to scoot right along. Since the dollar store had taken care of most of my shopping list, I needed to buy a lot less. Didn't get one thing that was not on my list outside of a pkg of choc. chips which I'll need once I make the fudge. We made a quick stop at Office Depot 'cause Barb couldn't find the tracing paper at our first two places. Then we decided a quick burger was in order. We drove by Burger King and Dairy Queen but both had long lines in the drive-thru so we opted to head home and stop at the casino for a burger. It was delicious. We also decided to spent $10 on the slots before leaving. I managed to make $5 and knew if I stayed longer, I'd end up going home with nothing.
The drive home was uneventful; Just the way I like it. I am tired, though. I always get tired when I travel anywhere out of the county. And shopping is hard too. I went to bed last night at 9 pm and had to force myself to stay up that late as I was ready to hit the sack at 7. I knew I was tired and I was out like a light. Slept 11 hours and here I am yawning again.
I hauled all my bags upstairs and got everything put away and now I'm gonna take a quick nap before dinner arrives. It's chicken fried steak today with mashed potatoes and gravy and cut corn, and bread pudding. I'll probably have to put it aside and reheat in the microwave later as I'm way too full to think about dinner at 4 pm.
Sure is dark and cloudy outside and it was pretty cold while I was out and about today too. I've got to make a post office run tomorrow or the next day but I think that's it. Here's a picture my son-in-law posted on FB that I thought was interesting.
And another that deserves a post....Now that I've got my Xmas bags and wrapping paper and to/from tags, I can start wrapping gifts this week. Have to finish my Santa faces on rocks too. Busy busy.....
