One thing I don't like about this blog is how hard it is to change the look of it. I tried and tried to put new things up but all I managed was this picture at the top of Point Hudson. I hadn't even decided for sure if that was the picture I wanted so I'll probably change it again at some point. It's 6:30 pm and I just watched the NBC nightly news. Don't usually have the news on these days as it's too upsetting. I did enjoy, however, the final little story on the graduates of 2022. My oh my, have graduation ceremonies ever changed since 1961 when Mr. Raymond cautioned us to NOT do anything out of the ordinary. And we obeyed too! I like the new way better. Was interesting to hear snippets of the various folks they paid to give the commencement speeches too. I bet that cost a pretty penny.
I went to bed really tired again last night and was surprised to be awakened with those damn calf cramps. Hurts! I can go months and months not being plagued with those. I moved to my recliner at 5 a.m. figuring I would nap at least until 6:30 or 7. I must have been tired, though, as I didn't wake up until almost 8. I had opened up my windows to listen to the rain and raindrops usually lull me off to sleep.
I started working on my jigsaw puzzle but after I got the border and found I could not find any other pieces, I got discouraged. I don't mind looking and looking and looking but after a while, it's just too dang tiresome. I did set up another puzzle and I'll work on that tomorrow.
I spent an hour at the sewing machine sewing little crumb pieces together for an eventual quilt. It's a tiresome chore so I only do it for an hour and then I move on to something else. I have 10 or more quilt tops ready to be made into quilts so I got two of them out and looked them over trying to decide what I wanted to do. They both need a border so I cut up a large pile of 4" wide strips that I will sew together tomorrow and attach to the blankets. Then the hard part starts of putting on batting and backing. I hate that part.
I guess it's sciatica that has returned to torment me again. I've been having an extra hard time walking and I pretty much am uncomfortable around the clock. Thankfully, the walker lets me get about somewhat. So happy I have that gadget. The only other things I accomplished today was working a crossword puzzle, working the wordle puzzle, and playing my new favorite game on line called Outspell. It's kind of like scrabble and I play against the computer. I end up calling "my opponent" lots of unkind names too.
I saw this news story on King 5 of Marty Bluewater who lives on Protection Island. Really enjoyed it. I looked him up on FB and saw he had at least 8 mutual friends as me. That was enough to send him a friend request. Interesting guy.
My neighbor, Trish,, brought me a cake doughnut with a ribbon on it to wear around my neck as she said it was national doughnut day. Well, I didn't realize it wasn't for eating (it was the kind of doughnut I'm partial to) and I was really ticked at her when I discovered it was as hard as a rock. haha
I mailed out seven postcards today. Had made up 30 of them and I hope the post office doesn't butcher them in process. Not much on my agenda tomorrow or all week long, as far as that goes. I will attend the alumni social hour next Saturday and I've got a couple of doctor appts and a couple of funerals inked in on my calendar for June.
Here's my new favorite singer -- JJ Cale
And here's another guy that I love to listen to on my Pandora Music Station..Paul Thorn. Never heard of him before but I sure like his music. Click on the small white frame at bottom right to make the videos full screen.
