It's 11 a.m. and I've been up and busy since 7. Crossword was too hard (it usually is on Saturday) but I got wordle in 4 tries. I decided to drive to Irondale to visit this yard sale and was so glad I did. I made a side trip on the way to Old Fort Townsend as I hadn't been out there in several years. The road to the park was sure nice. Too bad the city can't do something about their horrible roads. They seem to be getting worse all the time. Anyhow, the park was very pretty and well maintained. Lots of campers.Saw one old guy walking from the park back up to the highway and it made me kind of sad to watch him. Had several bags so I'm assuming he was homeless.
I spent $9 at the sale. I have to be very choosy what I decide to bring home because I know however many pieces I bring it, I really need to take that many pieces out again. And it worked quite well today. Plus I got to visit with my pal, Barbara Shaw. She lives nearby and we've been close friends for years but we're both too lazy to get off our butts and go visit each other. We laughed about that.
I've never lived my ironing board because it is soooooo heavy. I found one at this sale for $5 and was so pleased that it was in good shape and very lightweight. Made my day! I took my old one down to the laundry room so am hoping somebody will take it home.
My new board.
I also bought a really cool fish mobile for $2. I love mobiles and this one is very colorful.
My last two purchases were a dollar each. A nice wood box and a pretty little jewelry box. I'll find a use for the wood box sooner or later or I might ask my neighbor if she can use it. I'll give the small jewelry box as a gift.I ended up taking a small wire basket full of old thread spools and a colorful box that once held Costco greeting cards to the laundry room. Along with my old board. Seems like everytime I find something new, I have to rearrange to find the perfect spot. I didn't like the way my computer table area didn't have more writing desk area so I fixed that up and by moving things here and there. Put my printer over on the back of the sewing table and a few things in the hall closet. Much better now.
Nine dollars for a dozen eggs? Whoa....
