Dreams

Dreams.  Man, are they weird. And isn't it strange that we don't seem to know what causes them. Not really. Some say they're problems we haven't worked out. Maybe.  But a lot of the time, mine just seem to be plain ole nightmares.  Not always but mostly.  One that happens frequently is losing my car.  And lately it's been the white RAV4 that I drive now.  More often than not, it's been stolen and every single time I try to call the police, the phone won't work. Meaning I can't dial or push the buttons.  I frequently have ferryboats in my dreams. I'm always trying to catch one. (I hate catching ferries so that one isn't hard to analyze) Last night was another with animals. I often have animals show up. Usually dogs. The one last night must have been a pet I used to have but I couldn't say for sure. You know how dreams are. Anyhow, I had come home (I still had kids at home then) and remembered that I didn't buy dog food. I felt so bad because my dog was really hungry --and he seemed to forgive me for it. I went out to buy food and at first I went to Del's Grocery but they didn't have any dog food. I was looking for dry food I remember that. Then I made my way to the top of the hill as I was sure Denny Sullivan would have food. He didn't so I went to an area down by the boat haven that had several stores and I made my way in and out of various buildings looking for dog food. Are you bored yet? Other times I've dreamed that I got back from being elsewhere and came home to discover I had forgot to feed and water the chickens and ducks and I was afraid they were all dead. That obviously must refer to my childhood as we had chickens and ducks on Kuhn St.

It's early Sunday morning now. I just watched the CBS Sunday Show and it was pretty good. I had a bowl of Cheerios and worked my crossword puzzle and now I'm in here in my bedroom pounding away on the laptop.  Have to go read the paper, work the crossword and wordle, check out Facebook, and reread the rules on entering stuff in the fair.

I found 19 things I want to submit (tomorrow is the day for sewing stuff) but I'm thinking I might have to sew tabs on some of them so they can hang them up. I seldom put tabs on my stuff. Stick pins are good enough for me.  I'm putting in half a dozen painted rocks (as a set) and about six cross stitch pictures along with various wall quilt hangings.  I'll be heading to the fair to look the exhibits over on Friday morning. My sister is taking the bus out and will be in her electric chair. Barb Shaw is meeting me too. I'll be taking my walker so the experience will be more pleasant for me.  I want to be able to take my time to look at everything but I have to sit down because my back insists on it.

I finished watching another episode of Alone last night and more than likely I'll start another season tonight. I do love those survivor shows.  I'm reading a book by Charles Kuralt on his days as a tv newsman and finding it extremely interesting. I've got one on Robert Mitchum waiting for me next.

I half finished this 500-piece jigsaw puzzle and suddenly lost complete interest in it so I put it back in the box and started a new one.  I don't usually let myself do that but I must be antsy to get on to something else.  Mary G. and I went to a barbeque and Mary Crozier's yesterday. A ton of people there but we didn't know any. Well, we knew two. Kathy Embody and Shorty. Can't think of Shorty's last name right now. Lots of good food. I was sitting next to this woman who told me later she was 89. We didn't really visit until Mary introduce (sorta) the various people there. Had folks raise their hand who were alumni (me, Mary, and Kathy) and those who were in the Kiwanis Club and those who were in the Rhody Festival committees.  When the lady next to me realized I was an alumni, we struck up a conversation. Come to find out she was the aunt (I think?) Maybe a cousin of a classmate -Karen Cuykendall Jovag out in Port Ludlow.  From there we discussed other mutual people we knew.

Looks like it's gonna be another nice summer day. I plan to enjoy it watching golf on tv. haha

And here's a cool video I saw on Youtube a few nights ago... AND WATCH IT FULL SCREEN. SO GOOD!
