Loafing

Today I seem to be a lady of leisure.  I got up at 7:30 but only because my feet were bothering me in bed and I needed to get shoes on. I hope I can eventually find a doctor to figure out exactly what this issue is and how I can fix it. But until then, I'll just blog about how it pisses me off!

I went over to Judi Robbins' apartment to get my hair cut and while I'm not a stunning beauty, I am a tad better than I was. Ha!  My free food arrived at 11 and I gave three of the tv dinners to neighbors. I think I can use all the rest -- half gallon of milk, loaf of thin-sliced bread (my favorite), and a bag of apples.

Patsy Lamberton stopped by to give me some batting for which I am thankful. Yesterday, Yvonne Starkey stopped in to give me an old sheet I can use for quilt backing. She also gave me handful of buttons. Some of the Rhody Run pins I didn't have for my collection so I was happy to get them.

I did wash up the dishes and I did vacuum a little but I think that has been the extent of my work chores. I've gone from my lap top where I'm hooked (probably for life) on playing solitaire. I posted an old photo on Facebook and wrote one email to a friend. Then I went to the jigsaw puzzle table and struggled to get the border done.  I could not do it because half the pieces were already straight edged but belonged in the body of the puzzle. I gave up in disgust and went downstairs to the activity room aned find something new to work on. I brought three back up here and the one I started already has the border done so I'm sure I'll be able to finish it in a few days.

I made up my grocery list and decided I am probably never going to get around to eating the half box of Rice Krispies that have been in the pantry for months. Added marshmallows to my list and will make krispie treats tomorrow or Saturday.  Don't think I've ever made those for the neighbors.

I've changed my shoes three times already as my feet are in a snit again and can't seem to be happy with any of the sneakers that I attempt to please them with.  I'm pretty sure I have metatarsalgia but I'm wondering too if maybe arthritis is getting into the act. I'm walking very gingergly and will definitely have to take my walker to the fair tomorrow morning so I can halfway enjoy myself.

I started watching two shows on Netflix this week.  I lost interest in Lost in Space although I may go back to it again. I'm watching Zoo now (seen it before I think as it looks familiar) but it's making me nervous so I don't know if I'll continue. I also tuned into this show called Black Summer. It's about zombies and reminds me of The Walking Dead (which I loved).  I have to be in the mood to watch these off the wall type shows. We'll see how long I last.  Golf has been on since I got up.  Not that I sit and watch it; I just like having it on for background noise.

If anything sets me off, it's turning on the tv and having to listen AGAIN to ad after ad for drugs you need to buy. IF you make sure they don't kill you in the process.  Also aggravates me how they tell you to tell your doctor if you have heart problems.  All these people saying:  I had a rapid heart beat but I didn't put off telling my doctor. Good grief!  First of all, good luck at even getting in to a doctor. At least in this town.  Anytime one of those drug commercials come on I IMMEDIATELY change the channel her hit mute. I absolutely refuse to let them invade my space.

Well, back to my puzzle now. Here's a fun video...

  1. Very interesting video. It makes me sad though to think of how humans are destroying the oceans and food sources for so many of these magnificent creatures.
