Mother Nature Gives Me a Headache

It's only 11:30 a.m. and I feel like I've been up for hours.  Oh wait!  I have!  I set my alarm for 4:20 but I didn't need to. Woke up at 3:30 and laid there watching the clock. Hate it when I do that. Got up before the alarm and took a hot shower to wash off the night.  Drove over to Jenni's and picked her up at 4:55 and we were off.

Rain was coming down in BUCKETS!  And I can't see in the rain and the dark.  But I told myself I would today.  It was dreadful.  We stopped at the Long House by Seven Cedars so Jenni could get a sandwich and drink.  She decided she was feeling pretty good so she offered to drive the rest of the way. We were heading for the Bainbridge Island ferry so she could walk on.

She took over the wheel but I still gripped the door handle with white knuckles.  She got as far as the Hoods Canal Bridge and said she was having double vision so I was going to have to take over.  There we were -- the blind leading the blind.  But, we made it by God!  I dropped her off at the terminal and then drove back to a nearby McDonalds to grab a breakfast sandwich and let it get a little lighter out.  The drive home wasn't a piece of cake either.  Way too many semis on the road for my comfort.  When they weren't speeding past me spreading water and spray, they were clogging slowly up hills leaving lines of cars behind them going 20-30 mph.  'Course then you have to contend with those idiots who just can't abide going that slow so they pass 10 cars at once going 75 mph. Damn fools!

I had two disks left to listen to on the audio tape I brought along so I stuck that in to take my mind off the weather and driving.  Good book, by the way -- Snowbound by Richard Wheeler. About a bunch of guys crossing the Rockies in the early 1900s and what happens to them.

I decided to stop at Sequim Walmart to see if they had mud flaps. They didn't so I spent $18 on food and drove on home.  Happy Happy to pull into my garage.  Changed clothes, retrieved the mail, and sat down at the kitchen table to get online.  Fixed a bowl of cereal and this is where I've been ever since.  One email I got from Les Walden had some terrific old photos attached. Here are three I especially liked.
1904 Jersey Shore at Atlantic City
                                                      1908 Times Square, NYC

I spent yesterday working on my purple quilt. Got it done except for the batting and backing I'll start attaching tomorrow.  Too tired today. Going to give it to Jenni.

Mary sent me this cute one of Jacob playing with a puzzle she bought him.  Makes me smile to see his little tongue hanging out when he's involved in something.  My dad always did that.
Hunter came by yesterday and helped me hook up my Roku to the tv set in the sewing room.  Now I can watch Youtube videos on quilt making while at the machine.  Not to mention the cool music I can have playing or the movies.  I do love my Roku.

Have you watched that Netflix documentary called 'The making of a murderer?'  Pretty interesting and it's generated a lot of publicity.  Personally, I think he's guilty.

Can't believe how sunny it is outside right now.  Blue skies even.  Mother Nature is such a picky witch!

Got the Sequim radio station KSQM 91.5 fm playing right now.  Man, are they ever the best station!
You can listen on your computer or roku if your radio won't pick it up.  Well worth the time to try.
I can't believe the variety of songs they have in their collection. I've heard so many tunes I've never heard before.  Good music.

Oh dear, I've started yawning and I know what that means.  A nap.  Only problem is, I have to pick up Maddie at 1:30. Should I nap now or after?  Decisions, decisions.

Here's a song my favorite radio station played last hour.  So pretty. You'll love it!
