Planning my Weekend

I was going to drive into PT and Chimacum today as I planned on going to Dan Pinneo's graveside service but the ole body is reminding me, yet again, that my graveside service may come up in the not too distant future.  Left upper leg continues to bother me all day and night.  I keep looking for a bruise and today I "think" I saw one. Brought out my large mirror from the living room and examined the painful area once again.  Could be I'm just looking for a bruise so I'm not positive that what I saw is actually a bruising or just discolored and ugly skin!  At any rate, it's uncomfortable to sit in the far and most chair so I'm going to limp around the house all weekend and take it easy.

I've been downing iboprufens every few hours but decided to try tylenol today.  Those don't usually do a thing as far as I can tell but I know you shouldn't take too many ibo's either.  One way or another, you shouldn't do something!

I found a sheet at Goodwill yesterday that had purple flowers on it so I washed it up last night and may try to cut it down for the backing to the purple quilt I'm making for Jenni.  Putting on the batting and backing is the hardest part of making a quilt and I don't know for sure how far I'll get what with my leg pain and low back/hip trying to get in the act. On the other hand, I don't think any body part is ever going to "not be an issue" anymore so I might as well try and work through it the best I can.

I had to put away the PT neighborhood map jigsaw puzzle because it was just too difficult to get the pieces where they needed to be.  Problem is all the pieces pretty much are exactly the same so when you get one fitted in nicely, you find out later, it may not be the right one afterall. Way too much effort -- especially when you're just wanting to sit there and relax.  I set up a second one last night of Victoria BC.

Been bothered with gnats off and on in every room of the house.  Read up on why and decided to take my two house plants (that I had recently fertlized and probably overwatered) out to the garage. I still had a couple buzzing me in the bathroom this morning but then the large mirror over the sink has 4 bright lights and I know that attracts.  I even wondered if they were coming from the drains or the crawl space cover in the walkin closet.  Will be curious to see if the problem rights itself now that the plants are gone.

Hunter helped me deliver a bunch of stuff to this house near the high school yesterday that was taking donations for the homeless.  Amazing what you can find to contribute once you stop and really look at your duplicate things and the items you never use.  I found bags, hats, blankets, sweat pants, coats, and even a wire cart on wheels. (I have two)    The Seattle news reported a story of the numbers of homeless in the metro area and it numbered over 10,000!  Gees!  How sad.  I'm always fascinated to look at the homeless camps when I go to that side of the water. I can't imagine living on the street.

Watched a new show on NBC the other night with Rob Lowe called You, me, and the apocalypse.  It was about a comet heading toward earth and while I thought it was kind of cute, there were so many commericals, I doubted I would tune in a second time.  You can easily get spoiled with Netflix and Amazon.

The political news continues to aggravate so I don't linger on it too long.  Won't linger even ten seconds on anything about Trump and the media seems to favor his big mouth the most.  I'll never understand why so many people find favor with that jackass.  Definitely says something about our lowered standards.

Took a couple pictures outside yesterday. One of the two houses up the street that are coming right along and one of a hummingbird that flew in after I added fresh nectar.

Noticed someone turned "my ladies" around on my window sill. (Hunter?) Anyhow, I kind of like seeing the backs of them so I think I'll leave them be. Took another picture from outside too.

I named that knickknack 'Barbara and Joyce' 'cause Barbara Shaw gave it to me several years ago.

Looking over my February calendar, I see nothing written in except to have blood work drawn Feb. 11th.  Doctor didn't think my kidney numbers looked all that great and then I had a high ferritin level too.  Had to look that up and it has something to do with protein in your iron.  Also read you can get a high reading if you have inflammation and the way my body's been feeling lately, I know for sure there's inflammation onboard.  On the plus side, my mammogram and bone density came back okay.

Well, time to head back to the sewing room. Am almost finished with the audio book (Snowbound) so I'll probably start another.  Been watching quilt making tips on Youtube from my recliner and am anxious to get going on something new.

Wrote a piece on my Town Kid blog a couple days ago. Called 'How'd you sleep last night'. You can read it at www.ptleader.com  under 'blogs'.
