I didn't make it out walking today. I was bad. Tomorrow I'll be good. I spent most of the morning on my computer writing a Town Kid blog, emailing, working a crossword on Yahoo, surfing Facebook, and just plain lookin' around. Then I headed back to the sewing room.
I think tomorrow I'm going to set up my air cleaner in there. Maybe even crack the window now and then. I've noticed that at the end of the day my chest hurts, I'm stuffed up, and I don't feel all that great. I kind of wonder if it isn't the material lint and dust and fabric finish on the material and threads, etc. We'll see.... Wouldn't hurt to try it out. Also think I'm going to hook up the humidifier in my bedroom to see if I can maybe wake up feeling halfway better. Then again, maybe this is just how it is when you're old and gray. Ha!
I took part of the strip quilt I was working on and cut off part of it to play around with other fabric and make a different square. I have a ton of pink roses material but it probably would have looked better if I'd chosen a solid color material. Still, it's all a learning process with me.
I may use the rest of the quilt (in top picture and add borders to make a lap quilt. Haven't quite decided. I watched a lot of quilt how-to videos on Youtube last night and decided I wanted to make a strip/sash wall hanging (or whatever you call it) Here's the six squares I made and what I ended up with.
The green in the background is another quilt hanging on the wall. It's not perfect, by any means, but it was certainly fun playing around with it. Plus I was able to use up a lot of scraps in my stash. I've been listening to The Brethren by John Grisham and am almost finished with it. Really good too.
Tomorrow I think I'm gonna head back downtown to Bay Variety and look over their material again. Might drop in at Joanne's too as I want to try some applique ideas. Plus I need to go over to the Dollar Tree and buy a Valentine or two. Just can't afford to spend $4 or $5 on a card but I can handle two for a dollar or even a dollar a piece. Cards have gotten so expensive and then there's postage on top of that. Sending greetings via the internet is much easier but sometimes you just gotta mail off a card too.
And that's about all I got today. Can't believe it's almost 6 o'clock already.
