Monday after the Super Bowl

I was really looking forward to the Super Bowl yesterday.  It was pretty entertaining but I don't think it was the most exciting game I've ever seen.  The Seahawks game was way more tense.  I loved Lady GaGa and for once, they had somebody sing the Nat'l Anthem without ruining it.  I didn't think the choir singing 'America' was all that hot, however.  I love 'America' and don't like it when people want to add lilts and turns to it that aren't in the original theme.  The commercials were pretty good but maybe I just wasn't in the mood to get excited about any of them.  I liked the Doritos one with the lady giving birth, Hyundai's Ryanville, and the one with a yellow lab driving with a puppy in the backseat.  I also liked the halftime show and that's saying something for me 'cause I'm usually not that turned on.  (it's an age thing I'm sure)  Have to admit that Beyonce looked hot and was probably the best act.  Bruno was second and I've always loved Bruno Mars!

Later on that evening, I tuned in on Downton Abbey and watched a couple episodes of Homeland. Enjoyed them both.

Today I decided it was time I tried out my two walking sticks to see if they made any difference at all in how well I held up going for a walk.  I drove over to nearby Lincoln Park by the fairgrounds and got out with my sticks, my cell phone, and my ipod.  Took a few pictures walking around the ponds but don't think the ducks and geese were especially fond of me hanging around.  I'm gonna go back tomorrow and take my regular camera so I can get better shots.

Ran into a neighbor who lives a few houses down and she's out and about every day picking up trash and letting her dogs have free rein to roam.  I always catch up on neighborhood news 'cause she's lived on the street for over 30 years and seems to know what's going on.  Said they were going to build 5 to 7 more houses in the lot/block across the street from me.  So I guess I'm gonna have noise and activity to keep me occupied.

Mary and Andy went to the moutains on Saturday and Jake had a good time experiencing snow for the first time.

I finished up my red, white, and blue quilt and plan on starting another strip quilt today along with some  applique projects.
The mailman just drove up so guess I'll cut this short and head out there to see if I got anything interesting.  Here's a picture I saw on Facebook the other day.  I really like it.
