I forced myself to get outside and go walking this morning. I really didn't want to but everything was stiff and sore and I knew it wasn't going to improve unless I got things moving. Picked up Joyce Lee and we went down to the beach. Or what passes for a beach in this town. I wanted to find pieces of driftwood, sticks, and rocks for a craft I want to try. Making pictures. Got a box full, but I need to go to a better beach. We're going to try North Beach next time we decide to drive into Port Townsend.
Here are the kind of pictures I want to try and make....
Aren't those just the cutest ever? Now I've got to read up on what materials I need and what kind of glue, etc. Started looking over my material to see what I might want to work on next. Ann Robson sent me a couple of trailer pieces she had on hand after I had sent her one I had. Haven't quite decided yet what I'm going to do but am leaning towards small wall pictures.
As I scrounged around in my sewing supplies to make a list of things I might need to buy, I wrote down sewing machine needles. Then I looked again and realized I had plenty.
I stuck them all on a piece of felt so they're not scattered here and there and everywhere. (picture turned out kind of blurry but you get the idea)
I also thumbed through an applique book I had and discovered some really good and easy patterns I can use. I decided to cut the pages out of the book so they're easier to copy and use.
I also came across a panel my sister had given me. I'm thinking it would make a neat bib. (for an adult)
I've got an ad running on the Clallam County buy/sell/trade page of some books I decided to get rid of. Ended up clearing out shelves and got 120 hardback and paperback books. Going to sell the lot for $25. Mostly fiction and some biography. Good condition if you know anybody who might be interested.
Think I'm gonna list a small bookshelf for $10 too.
Maddie was in the Peninsula Daily News a few days ago on the sports page. She's becoming quite the runner.
Joyce and I decided to go for lunch once the rain began and opted for the hospital cafeteria. Oh my, it was terrific! I had a bowl of split pea soup and a cheeseburger for under $5. She had the soup and some mashed potatoes and gravy for $2.14. There are some advantages at being a senior. And the food was good too. Plus we sat in front of this big picture window with a view of the water. I'm definitely going to keep the hospital cafeteria on my stop list. They even have a salad bar.
I managed to get my photos sorted yesterday. At least the first round. I hooked up my old computer so I can do some more scanning with my older scanner. Ongoing project that I'm still thinking over in my mind what I want to do.
And now for your listening pleasure...somebody who I used to swoon over (one of many)...
