Feeling a little punky again today. Not sick; just slow moving and tired. Story of my life lately. Am forcing myself to get things done anyway. I do a few household chores, sit down at the computer, get up and do more chores -- back and forth. I mailed off a wall hanging gift to my cousin in Tacoma but that's going to be the extent of my errands.
Still managed to fold the laundry, wash dishes, sweep the bathroom and kitchen, vacuum a couple rooms, and curl my hair. I'm going to hang some handiwork on the wall and "maybe" look over my book collection to see if I can thin it down some. I went to sleep last night thinking about all the stuff I have that I don't really use or need. Downsizing is a job, however, and you have to be on your game to tackle it. I've got books, jigsaw puzzles, CDs, Christmas decorations, and outdoor pots. Once I start digging in, though, I know the pile will increase. I'll take little steps and see what kind of progress I can make. Am kind of leaning towards giving it all away and not selling it but I'll think on it.
The Leader had a cool looking back picture in the paper this morning. Showed the primary school being built in 1952. Below it is one I have of my brother, Dana, and my cousin, Sue, as they start school in 1956.
The book pile by my recliner seems to be growing. I often go through periods where I'm reading more than one book at a time. Today I have Dad by William Wharton, Ancestors by Willliam Maxwell, Merle Haggard My house of memories (with Tom Carter), The Amateur Marriage by Anne Tyler, and Raymond Carver, A writer's life by Carol Sklenicka. All of them are holding my interest too.
Had to turn the news off right away this morning. Just too tiring to listen to yet another terror attack. And poor ole Barack. He just can't catch a break. He's criticized constantly for everything he does and everything he doesn't do. They won't let him pick a judge for the supreme court (even though he has every right to) because "they" say a new president should pick. Who says? And then he goes on vacation and because he doesn't come running home when a foreign country is attacked, he catches hell for going to a baseball game. Tell me please why he needs to cut his vacation short? People get real weird when they start participating in the races for the white house. I'm sick of all of them!
Guess I'll get my designs up on the wall and retire to my recliner earlier than usual.
