Foggy Friday

Opened the curtains and looked upon gray overcast skies.  I can tell, though, that it's most likely going to burn off and be a nice sunny day.  I sure feel better than I did yesterday.  I wonder if it was because I took the foam mattress off my bed (again!)  I don't know what my problem was yesterday but I "think" my back was out.  I guess.  I don't really know for sure as I often think my back hasn't wanted to cooperate with the rest of my body for several years.  At any rate, it was a difficult day maneuvering to do anything.  I hate having days like that; especially when the sun is shining and I've got various craft or sewing projects I want to get going on.

I plan on making my first sticks and stones picture today.  Imagine it will look pretty amateur as my attempts to be creative are often lame.  But we'll see.  I'm also going to mosey on back to the sewing room and see what kind of damage I can do.  I finished a bird wall hanging yesterday (my only accomplishment) but I don't like the color scheme and it doesn't hang right.  I'm continuing to learn as I go what not to do.  The green material on the outside is actually another quilt on the wall that I hung this one on.  I really liked this bird material and kind of regret I didn't get an end product I'm happy with.  Oh well, on to the next thing.
I've got hummingbirds visiting the nectar in both the front and back yard and the birds finally discovered my seed hung high on the roof eave.  It's nice waking up to a little dash of color with the tulips and daffodils too.  I set out a few yard knickknacks a couple days ago.  I might not have pretty grass and well kept flower beds but I've got cute toys.  ha ha

Maddie and a friend went into Port Townsend yesterday to shop.  Will be curious to hear if she found anything to buy in the way of clothes. Also, what she found interesting while there.  I'm hoping to drive in next weekend. I'd like to hit North Beach and see what kind of rocks, driftwood, shells, and beach glass I can find for my projects.  Will have to keep my fingers crossed that my body cooperates and lets me stroll the shore with my walking stick.

Here's a couple pictures Maddie posted on her FB page of a hiking trip she went on with girl friends a few days ago up by Lake Crescent.

My USB ports on my laptop have been trying to go out these past weeks. Some work sometimes and some don't. Thanks to Mary, I found this gadget you can send for that lets you plug into one port and then have four more extensions. Perfect!

My coffee has turned cold so think I'll go nuke it in the microwave and see about getting busy on sticks and stones project.  Here are some of the samples I saw on Pinterest.  Really cute.
