Shirley Ann (Patacsil) Aragon, "Turn Born," 73,
passed away on March 28, 2016, at her Kirkland, Washington, home after a short
battle with cancer. Her loving family was by her side.
Her wake service will be at 5 p.m. today, Friday, April
1, 2016, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Rocky Boy followed by her funeral
service at 10 a.m ., Saturday, April 2, 2016.

Shirley was born in Sacramento, California, Sept. 16,
1943, to Bernabe and Elizabeth (Sutherland) Patacsil. She attended Haskell
Indian Boarding School, graduating in 1962 and married Don Joseph Aragon, whom
she met at school.
Shirley took some time off from school to raise her
children and then continued school at Bellevue Community College in Bellevue,
Washington, earning her associate degree. After graduating from Bellevue
Community College, she continued on to the University of Washington, where she
earned her master's degree in social work.
She worked for the United Indians Tribes Foundation and
later with the State of Washington as an area administrator for the Department
of Social Health Services, until her retirement.
Shirley thoroughly enjoyed traveling. She had been to
several of the United States, and to Mexico, Italy, Greece, Paris and New
Zealand. She loved spending time with her family, and her grandchildren and
great-grandchildren were the light of her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bernabe and
Elizabeth Patacsil; her sister Rose Mary Sangrey; her niece Rachelle Patacsil;
her aunts Laura Bautista, Lilly Rania, Helen Molina and Rosalie Bautista; and
her uncles George "Korgal" Sutherland, Edward "Panther"
Sutherland and Richard "Dickie" Sutherland.

Shirley is survived by her friend, Richard Takeuchi of
Seattle, Washington; her children, Deborah Aragon, Dawn "Denise"
Aragon, and Zena "Deanne" Aragon, all from Fort Washakie, Wyoming,
and Don "Travis" Aragon, of Kirkland, Washington; her grandchildren, Rosemary
and Earl Antone, Victor Delcampo, Deanna Aragon, Elizabeth Delcampo, Renee
Crooked Arm, Marc Travis Crooked Arm, Seth Dale Aragon, Jasmine Aragon, Dominic
Aragon and Makiaa Aragon; her great-grandchildren, Kristine Aragon, Illyanna
Ward, Aurora Savage, Logan Savage, Chayton Horn, D.J. Horn and Jason Horn; one
great-great-grandson, Jason Horn; her sister Roxanne (Ted) Demontiney of Rocky
Boy; her brothers, Richard (Gigie) Patacsil of Great Falls, Victor (Kim)
Patacsil, and Mario Patacsil, all of Rocky Boy, Bernabe (Jackie) Patacsil of
Seattle, Washington, and Leon (Susan) Sutherland, Matthew (Joyce) Denny, Curtis
Denny, Bruce Denny and Walter "DoDo" (Torina) Denny Jr .; her uncles
Henry "Pejohn" and Louis "Walkie" Sutherland, both of Rocky
Boy; and her dear friends, who have adopted her as their own family.
