Been a long week

Dropped off some library books early and browsed Goodwill. Found two more frames for my rock pictures project - 99 cents each so that was nice. I like their 99 cent tables and aisles. Much better deals than their usual merchandise that is often overpriced.  I picked up a really nice vase for a buck too.  I guess it's a vase.  It's heavy and I may put marbles or beach glass in it.
After Goodwill, I went across the street to Safeway.  Got company coming this weekend so I bought a few things I normally would have passed on.  And I must say, my mood has lifted with goodies under the roof.  Got a pan of brownies baking in the oven now as I know Catie likes those. Her and Brandon are spending two nights.

Jenni stayed over last night and plans on sleeping over Sat night too.  Needs some away time from teenagers forgetting to show some respect.  She's been having a tough time of it for the last few months and things seem to be going downhill. She's getting five infusions at the hospital this week, hoping it will slow the symptoms down. Her speech has been affected  a lot, along with balance and strength.  Can't even hold a cane sometimes.  June 2nd and 3rd she has various doctor appts at Swedish in Seattle.  I plan on driving her to Mary's with the hope Mary or Catie can get her downtown. That's just too far out of my comfort zone.

We'll come back on Saturday the 4th and then I'll drive into Port Townsend to hook up with Mary Gaboury.  I'll stay overnight at her nephew's house so we can attend the wedding reception for Cathi White at the Elks Club.  The following week I'll head to PT again for the alumni reunion.  Just the social hour part of it for me, though.

I seem to be at that stage of life where doctor appts are about the only thing filling up my social calendar.  I have physical therapy this coming Thursday (for my blasted shoulder) and at the end of June, I drive to Poulsbo to see a back surgeon.  Don't plan on having surgery but I do need to find out what my options are.  blah blah blah

I sent for four 1953 True Story magazines on eBay. Gotta seal them in a  bag with baking soda and put them in the freezer for a week or so. Read that's supposed to help remove the musty smell.  I plan on scanning in some of the stuff and will probably use as Christmas gifts for women around my age.
Contractors have been clearing the two lots down the street from me that were full of scotch broom.
There's been a for sale sign on the property but I don't suppose it looked all that inviting with the yellow flowers taking up the ENTIRE area.

My house has been shaking all morning what with the heavy duty machinery cleaning up the lots down the street.  Windows are rattling and even the closet doors.  Sure is nice to have those weeds gone, though.

Well, I took a break to throw clothes in the dryer and hang a blanket on the deck and then carried on to finish washing dishes and fill my new vase with marbles. I guess it doesn't look all that great in this picture but they really are kind pretty. Some of them are old marbles too.
Picked up a couple of frames at Goodwill to have on hand for my latest craft. Been making sticks and stones pictures. Gonna use for gifts, I think.

I'm also using buttons. I've had a collection of buttons for years and obviously it's about time to do something with them.  I sorted them by color and style and what a job that was.  Had to rip out pieces of thread in many of them, as well. That took longer than I thought it was going to.

One of my half sisters sent me the Rolling Stone magazine with Merle on the cover.  Gonna' keep this one.  And the articles were quite good.  I love Hag's music and always have!

Mary and Andy are in NY for a few days visiting his parents.  Jake is making quite an impression, as I knew he would.  He got to see the pilots in the cockpit of the jet before take off but was kind of shy and wouldn't sit in the seat when the captain got up to let him.  He did talk over the microphone speaker, though. When told to make the sound of an airplane, he yelled CHOO CHOO!  Passengers got a kick out of it.

Eva Krogermeier and Jake watching television in Rochester, NY

Got my first high school graduation announcement in a long time. My cousin Claude Walker's grandson, Tom Zeliff, is graduating from Pomeroy HS.
Yesterday morning I had to sit over at Jenni's house while the plumber worked on her bathtub. She had fallen in the shower and broke the faucet. Ended up costing them $150.  Whew!
Rhody Parade is tomorrow but my back and hip bother me too much to try and navigate getting a place to watch. I don't even go to the Sequim Parade. Never have. And the P.A. parade is the same thing. I guess I'm past that now and prefer to see them on television. Well, not really.  If I could get to a parade easily without a lot of walking, I'd like to see one in person. Always liked Rhody Time.

Watched a great movie on Amazon Prime the other night.  It was in German so I had to read English subtitles (something I seldom like doing) but I got hooked right away on this one and watched it all the way through. Called  'Run Boy Run'.  A true story about a little Jew boy who hid in the woods from the Nazis and everything he went through.  I highly recommend it.

Am watching Maggie the dog for ten days and I think that's the extent of my week. Here's a picture I saw on Facebook today.  1937 Catholic Confirmation in Port Townsend
