computer day

Amazon says it's 'Prime Day' so I think I'll browse a bit to see if there's anything I can't live without. I did place an order yesterday for 16th birthday greetings for Maddie and Hunter. Always a little hard to know if what I'm buying for the grandkids will bring smiles of enjoyment.  All four of my grandkids are at different stages of their life. Catie is 27, working full time, and busy with her jewelry making and trips here and there with boyfriend Brandon. The twins are involved with school, friends, and everything teenage.  Jake is 2-1/2 and doesn't go without much in the way of toys, clothes, or fun activities.  He's one lucky little boy to have so many people loving him.

I've got to put a little more effort into working on my genealogy project that I'm putting together. I get so easily distracted but today's the day, I hang in there and see how much I can get accomplished. Mostly I'm just editing information I already have but as long as my ancestry.com subscription is running (one more week) I need to think hard on anything I want to look up.  BTW, if anybody has family stuff they want me to check on, send me an email at cedarrose61@hotmail.com and I'll see what I can find.  I love snooping around.

Tomorrow morning I'm driving Jenni to the Bainbridge Island ferry for her three-hour long appt. I was going to turn around and drive straight back as friends will pick her up in the afternoon at the casino but I decided to see if Joyce Lee wanted to hit the Clearwater Casino for an hour or so. Always an easier drive if you have company.  She likes casinos and hasn't been to that one in several years so we'll stop in there. I like it because I can sit down and play keno and people watch.  Slots can take your money way too fast.  We'll probably grab breakfast there too.  I also want to hit a quilt store in downtown Bainbridge as they're participating in this quilt pattern program that I'm collecting patterns for.

Thursday I take my car into the dealership for a replacement part on some recall item. That should take an hour.  Nothing much planned for the weekend. I'll probably head into Port Townsend one day in the last week of this month. Maybe I'll even wait until Sat, the 30th, so I can take my sister to lunch and a ride around town. She turns 70.  She had a hell of day yesterday. Got over to Safeway in her electric chair and discovered she had a flat tire. A tack.  Thing won't move when it has a flat so she called Les Schwab to come get it and take it to their shop. Then she had to call dial-a-ride-to get out to their store and then wait for a transit bus that could get her and the chair back to Safeway.  Life can get extra difficult when you're dependent on a chair like that.

Started a new book last night -- The Private Papers of Eastern Jewel by Maureen Lindley.  My sister-in-law, Lill, gave it to me and it's great!  I love books that grab your interest right off the bat! Thanks Lill!

Got a pdf. file from Sharon Sofie yesterday but couldn't get it open to play around with it the way I wanted so I could email it along. Tried again this morning as I wanted to print it up for the obit book.
Managed to get the picture and obit separately so I think that will work. Here's a picture of classmate Tom Moss.  Great shot!
Now I'll see if I can get the obit itself to post.  Well, it's kinda small but I think if you click on it,you'll be able to read it okay.  I'll have to sign off here and go click on it myself to see if it worked. And that's about it for now.
