Into Port Townsend and Back again

Fell into bed at 8:30 last night, tired to the bone.  I had picked Sue up at 9:30 a.m. for our trip into Port Townsend and it was 5:30 or so before I drove back into my garage.  The heat curtailed some of the stops I wanted to make.  Just too hot climbing in and out of the car and while I thought I had dressed cool enough, I didn't.  Altogether, we made ten stops!  Two of those were just quickies because the people weren't home. Well, one of them was home; I just didn't knock on the right door. Ha!  Next time....

First stop was at Ruth Kvinsland's place. Liz O'Brien dropped in while we were there so I went over to Liz's place after lunch so I could see her yard and how she'd had everything remodeled.

She had two large trees removed so the golf course view was much nicer from her deck.

Couldn't believe how many peaches she had on her tree. Sue and I both took home a sack to make pies.

After I left Ruth's, we went downtown to have lunch with my sister, her daughter, Edwina, and my sister-in-law, Lill.  Lill had made Janie a neat wall hanging.

After lunch, Sue, Lill, and I all headed for Goodwill. Sue found three pair of pants right off the bat so she was happy. I found a book on quilting.  We stopped by Lee and Elaine Arey's house but didn't knock on the right door so I'll try again next trip into town. Went a few blocks down the street to Bill and Teresa's house and left them a couple painted rocks.

Drove out to Cape George to give Cathi Deits her rock but she wasn't home so I left it on the porch and we stopped by to say hello to Clarence Lammers on our way out of town.
Decided to make a quick pizza stop in Sequim so neither Sue nor I would need to fix supper that night. Or tonight either, as far as that goes.

Picked a bowl of plums off my tree this morning so I guess I'll nibble on them the rest of the month.
I'd like to make some plum jelly but I'm not sure how.  Okay. I know I could Google it but what I meant to say was that I wish someone else would make it for me.  I'll think on it.

Mailman just brought my Amazon package.  Yay!  Ordered a modem so cable can't be charging me $15 a month rent anymore.  Ripoff!  Now I just have to hope I can hook it up easy. Mailman said he did the same thing and said it was easy to install.

Email in  my box this morning from the library saying a video I reserved is in so I guess I'll scoot on over there and pick it up. My sister recommended it.  A BBC production called The Crimson Tide.

Filled the bird baths early and they're already using it.  That gives me satisfaction.

A cousin sent me a 1941 picture of my dad when he played high school football.  The house partially showing behind his head is where John and I lived when we first moved back to Port Townsend in 1973.
Here's a picture of how it looked when we lived there and another of how it was remodeled after we left.  (it's the brown place on the left in the second photo)  -click to enlarge-

Well, I'm off.  Want to get my errands done before the heat hits.
