Did a little baking a few days ago and am discovering my cooking ability is fading. A lot of things aren't done as well as I used to do them -- like dish washing. Seems like every time I turn around I'm having to wash some dish over again. My eyes just aren't seeing it the first time.
I made a plum pie. It was awful. Threw it down the garbage disposal. Made a banana/plum bread that you cooked in an oblong pan. It was too dry. I threw it out. The few pieces I sent home with Jenni I didn't wrap up good enough and she dropped the package and stepped on it. I tossed out those recipes altogether. Today I made a peach cobbler from the peaches a friend gave me off her tree. It was okay but I didn't read the recipe right (I do that a lot now) and it had a tad too much cinnamon. But I'll deal with it.
Some of the pictures I posted on Facebook recently.....
20th St in PT in the 70s looking up towards Haines.
20th Street today. Doesn't even look like the same area
My lawn in better days. This was probably around 2010 or so. Hard to believe my grass looked that good.
The lawn now totally sucks!
Hippie Pea Patch Garden near golf course in PT around 1984.
The same area today

I think I'm gonna drive into Port Townsend one day next week. A friend from Texas will be up visiting family. We were in the same class at school. (Kathleen Delaney)
The Jefferson County Fair will be the second weekend of this month but I probably won't drive in for it. Too tiring and sometimes, too hot. Probably won't attend the Clallam County the Aug. 20 weekend either -- and that fair is right here in my neighborhood. Used to be I really looked forward to the fair. I guess things change.
Well, I think I'll head back to the sewing room. I did get some pieces cut out for this quilt piece I'm working on so now I have to see about getting them ironed onto the background piece. Am thinking I might start repainting rocks too. That was fun.
Been losing interest in Game of Thrones on HBO. They spend entirely too much time screwing and chopping off heads. Plus I don't like the dark scenes where you can't see what's going on. Will save myself $15 a month but I do intend to keep HBO long enough to look over the movies first.
