This quilting project is called "Row by Row" and you go around to various quilt stores and pick up free patterns. They encourage you to buy the kit so you'll have the material too but I have so much material onhand right now, I'd just as soon use up what's back there in the sewing room. I've got maybe a dozen or so patterns that people picked up for me. There are several states involved so if you know people in other places, you can get a nice stack going. Here's my 'Home Sweet Home' attempt.
Well, guess I'll finish this post up later. Want to get my errands done early -- library, bank, Walmart, Joanne's.
Later in the afternoon..
Managed to get all the errands done quickly and even opted to stop at Safeway and fill up the gas tank. I sometimes drive by slow and see if there's a backup before I opt to pull in. Got what I needed at Walmart and left spending about $16. Decided to buy this closet hanger that holds shoes or whatever as I needed more cubby holes to store pieces of material. Once you start cutting here and there, before you know it, you're overrun with odd little amounts that you just can't toss as you'll want them later. Always a struggle to stay ahead of the clutter in the sewing room.
Saw Tom Moss' obit in the Oregonian (posted on Facebook by his brother). Sure am gonna' miss that guy. What a character he was!
Went out in the back yard to tie my yellow plum tree to a stake so it wouldn't keep bending over. Since I had given away all my bird feeder stakes (like the dummy I am sometimes) I found myself wishing I had kept at least one. I used the tall one that I had inserted by the back steps to hang onto when I went down into the yard. I'll use my walking stick as I maneuver up and down now. I can get by without it but it's just a little more comforting to have something to hang on to, especially going down steps. Not sure why but I can walk up steps a whole lot easier than coming down. Those I have to take one at a time. I think my fear of falling kind of took over at some point and now I'm off ease trying to walk normally down a flight of steps. sigh....
Noticed two purple plums on the tree next to my yellow plum tree so I guess I'm going to get two trees with fruit. And surprisingly, my rhubarb is trying to come back in the raised beds. I suspect because I've been putting the sprinkler on them.
Here's a picture Mary posted on FB of her and Andy out bike riding with Jake. I gave her my fold-up bike once I got it in my head that I probably wasn't going to be getting on it again.
And that about rounds it up. Having a chicken breast for supper and a corn on the cob.
