I got a cortisone shot in my left upper arm yesterday. It still aches a bit but is much improved. I have to remember to take things easy as I'm not doing myself any good with some of the tasks I did today. I have iced it a couple times and took Tylenol instead of ibuprofen like the doctor told me. I'm still kicking myself for not going in sooner as I suffered daily through August.
I rearranged the living room (just a tiny bit) this afternoon. Didn't actually have to use much muscle as the loveseat is on those cool sliders. Biggest job I accomplished was getting a couple of closets cleaned out. Once I started digging in, it was amazing to me just how much junk I could dispose of or at least put in a better storage area. Always so satisfying when you finish a job like that.
I stopped at the office supply store yesterday to have my old black and white photos of my childhood home blown up in size. I was getting so frustrated with my lack of artistic ability, I thought maybe I'd try to color large pictures instead. They actually turned out kind of cool.
Talked to Mary on the phone this morning as she drove to work. They went to Seaside Oregon for the weekend and Jake was beside himself with contentment. So much so that he cried and carried on when it was time to come home. Mary would buckle his seatbelt and he'd unbuckle it and cry: NO GO HOME! Mary understood his frustration because he not only got to sleep in a big bed with mom and dad but he got to walk around town at night and steer the bicycle himself when they rented one. (at least he was sure it was him getting them around)
Three pictures I posted on Facebook today were of the old Junior High building in 1940's, 1950's and 2011.
Here's a picture Maddie posted on her FB page of her and her new boyfriend, Shawn. Isn't she just the cutest little thing?
I took my sewing machine into the shop this morning (where I had originally bought it) because I couldn't get the top plate off to clean underneath and was afraid to force it. I don't think I'm going to give that place any more of my business. I was the only one in the shop yet the owner couldn't be bothered to put down what he was doing for even a minute to listen to my request. I think the lady clerk was kind of intimidated by him too. Told me to leave the machine but I wasn't about to do that.
After two more stops at other fabric stores (they were too afraid to force the plate off), I came home steamed.
I wasn't about to give up, though, so I quietly sat down and monkeyed with it some more. Thankfully, it came off and I was able to clean underneath. And boy, did it need it. The machine hadn't been sewing right and I found a lot of thread wound around a screw. I know what caused it too. The glue from the fusible paper I was using to make my quilt panels. I watched a Youtube video on tv last night of other ways to do applique so I'm going to try them out. Here's my latest called 'Home is where you park it'. I still have to put the backing on yet.
Tomorrow, I'm going out to Salt Creek Campground to visit Jenni and a friend of hers up from Vancouver. Haven't seen Phaedra in several years and I haven't been to Salt Creek in a long time either. Looking forward to it.
Susan came over Sunday and weeded out front and around the back steps for me. I was so thankful as that horsetail weed was overrunning the place and I couldn't tackle it like I wanted to.
I was really tired last night so I hit the sack at 8:50. Then I woke up at 2 and couldn't get back to sleep. Got up to have some cocoa and decided to write a quick blog post for the Leader about Groucho Marx. www.ptleader.com
Am having to put the tv on mute a lot again as the presidential campaign continues to get more and more annoying. Trump makes me absolutely ill! Love the statues that have been reportedly showing up in various cities called "The Emperor has no balls." ha ha ha ha
Guess I'll go turn the veggies over now.
