Well, I guess I'm as ready as I'm gonna be. Fans are in place, ice cream is in the freezer, and I'm braless and in shorts -- which means I won't be venturing outside to scare anyone. I've got a small fan in the window in this room and it's quite comfortable -- but then it's only 10 a.m. I know things are gonna get ugly later. I've got five fans in the house and if I'm really dying, I can always try to hook up the a/c unit to my bedroom window. Only problem is, I'll need to put it on a low table so I can drain the water pan every couple of hours or so. It's too hard to try and do it when the unit is sitting on the carpeted floor.
I won't be going to the fair even though it's just up the street a bit. Too hot to bother. I did take a couple pictures on my way to the store this morning.
After I do my shoulder exercises, I plan on scooting on back to the sewing room to work on projects. Should be cool enough with a fan or two going. I brought home four audio books and there's always the television with Roku attached too.
Hunter came by yesterday to power wash the old wood box in the back yard that holds various lawn and garden things. The wood is rotten and won't hold up much longer but he's gonna paint it for me anyhow with whatever we find in the garage. Should last another winter or two.
I splurged at Safeway and bought a can of deviled ham. That stuff has always been too expensive but I figured it would be a nice sandwich treat mixed with a couple of chopped up boiled eggs. Also bought a ham/pasta salad at their deli and some ham slices. Guess I'll get busy around here now. I know I'm going to accomplish little once the house heats up in late afternoon/evening. And it does heat up! Oh well, it's still better than dealing with what those poor people in Louisiana are having to endure with floods. And same goes for the Californians and their fires. I'm thankful I live in the Pacific northwest.
