Last week of August

Sure is hard to believe that Labor Day is approaching.  On the other hand, it seems time is flying by way too fast sometimes.  Just heard of another friend that passed away at the end of July. Honey vonGoerken used to fill in for me at my desk in the billing office at the mill. Here she is at her house in Hadlock and on a walk with Linda Pedersen when the mill parking lot was closer to the office.

Posted on my Town Kid blog at the PT Leader website last night. About my friend, Joyce Lee, and her "beach garden."  I went down to the beach early yesterday morning to look around and was pleased to find her already there.
As she told me about her hobby of collecting beach finds, I discovered she was born at the Hay & Davidson Hospital in downtown Port Angeles back in 1940.  It's an apartment house now. I had no idea of its history. That's my car parked in front.

Mary sent me a picture of Jake enjoying their Sunday at home. He's always happy when they don't have to go some place.  On the other hand, he does have a good time as they plan new adventures.
Here he is at an airplane show at Fort Lewis.

And back at home, he had his mom help him line up his toys so he could play "traffic."  ha ha

Here's a shot of my Gig Harbor cousins, Cheryl, Marlee, and Cindy and a second of Cindy's grandchildren, twins Pearl and Jon.

Worked on my 5th quilt panel yesterday but changed the pattern a bit to what I had on hand.

School starts this Thursday, Sept. 1st.  The twins will be juniors in high school. How did that happen? I still remember them going to kindergarten and at Mary & Andy's wedding in 2008.

Have discovered a show on Netflix that kind of tickles me.  Chelsea Handler.  Talk show type and pretty interesting.  A little too free with cuss words but I can live with that.  She doesn't hold back on her disgust with Trump and that endears her to me immediately.  I always seem to learn something new watching her show and her varied list of guests.
