I actually got quite a few things done around here today. Didn't think that was going to happen because of the way my morning started. Woke up two or three times (early) with severe foot cramps. Like those charley horses we all hate. I've had them before and they were never quite as painful as the cramps in the calves and usually worked themselves out quickly once you stood up. This time, however, I was in for a longer seige. Eventually had to give up trying to stay in bed and got up to start my day.
Of course I immediately googled foot cramps (even though I've done that before). I wanted to bone up on what needed to be done and what was causing it. First thing Google mentioned was that "they" don't actually know what causes foot and calf cramps. Then they decided that most OLD people suffer sooner or later. Especially those over 70. Uh oh...I guess I'm done for!
I massaged the area with my electric massager that Mary bought me when I had shoulder surgery and did a few stretching exercises against the wall. Need to drink more water, eat more bananas, use ibuprofen, and a heating pad. Sigh... I half wonder if the various shoes I'm trying to break in don't have something to do with it. I've also been dealing with numb toes the past few weeks. It doesn't flare up until I've gone to bed, and is always gone in the morning. Which I think is odd. A circulation issue I'm sure. That "old" thing again.
I read up on what vitamins a person my age should be taking and which ones they've now decided are a waste of money. I'm taking potassium and magnesium, a probiotic, a garlic capsule and my b/p pill. I did go to Walmart this morning and pick up a couple jars of Vit D 'cause I was out. I ended up putting the miracle foam or whatever it's called back on my bed last night -- at 1 a.m. My shoulder was hurting everytime I tried to lay on my side so there I was -- tugging that ole thing out of the closet and back onto my bed. I'm going to use it tonight but if I continue to have issues with foot cramps, then I'm hauling the foam into this room and sticking it on the single bed.
I took some pictures out in front the house this morning. No reason. Mainly just wanted to go outside and test the weather as I was curious if it was going to rain. It didn't. I even have the fan running right now.
This is my street looking east. A neighbor is moving although they didn't live there very long at all.
I met them once now that I think about it.
This is my neighbor to the east and the second photo is the neighbors to the west.
I made up 7 salads this afternoon. Inspired by the crab the neighbor gave me last night.
I went to Walmart and bought a few items including Metamucil. Another "old" issue. ha ha
Stopped at the beauty school to get a haircut. The girl I got was new and nervous and kept wanting her teachers to stand with her. One was super nice to her; the other had other things to do. Rude.
Only cost me $9. Stopped at Safeway to pick up a few more items and a money order to send my half sister for her birthday next week. The one in prison.
By then I was dang hungry so I pulled into McDonalds and treated myself to a quarter pounder, side of fries and rootbeer. Man, was that yummy. I ate it overlooking the water a half mile down the road.
I brought half a dozen picture frames in from the garage to clean them up as I'm needing them for some Christmas gifts I'm making. I sure do hate trying to frame stuff. You just have to bite the bullet and go slow, though, as hiring a framer defeats the purpose of making your own Christmas gifts. Way too expensive.
Morning tv news got turned off even sooner than usual. Every channel was CRAP about crappy people! The Olympic swimmer who lied and lost endorsements but they're still trying to smooth that over-- mainly I suppose because he's one of the Dancing with the Stars people next month. It's all about money. And then there's that Anthony Weiner who was in the news years ago when his representive aide came up dead and now is wife is leaving him. And then they went on with the preppy snot who raped two years ago and they're still dragging that up like we give a damn.
Saw the front page of the Port Angeles paper ran a story on that screwball who beat up a lady bus driver (they got it on tape) and then they let him out on bail and he beat up a woman renting from him. Now they have a higher bail. He lives just down the street.
Been watching two things on Netflix. American Crime (21 episodes) and Chelsea Handler, a talk show host with a potty mouth. I over look the language 'cause she's funnier than hell. She hates Trump and makes fun of him that makes me laugh out loud. I always seem to learn something on her shows too. She has unusual guests.
Guess I'll go fix supper now. Gonna do some sewing tomorrow and rock painting. One of the more interesting things I did today was to set up my camera on delayed setting and take naked pictures of myself. Yep! I'm a screwball and I admit it. Man oh man, are they ever sad! I took a front, a back and a side and then put them in a folder called Pathetic. I don't know why I punish myself like that. You can blow them up on your computer and see every flaw. You'd think it would motivate me to diet and exercise more but I suspect even seeing these sad pictures isn't going to do the trick.
I told my sister about it and she was appalled. She said "what if you die and somebody sees them?" I told her I'd be dead, so what do I care? I also told her that I will make sure I delete them if I feel a heart attack coming on. She wanted to know if deleting them would really delete them and I told her, well, I suppose if the FBI wanted to confiscate my laptop for evidence, they could find it hidden somewhere in there -- but it would serve them right to have to look at those poses! ha ha
