Well, it's 1:30 p.m. and I haven't actually accomplished much today. Did go out and transplant a half dozen flowers from a pot on the deck to a blue pot I have sitting out front near the door. It's been full of dirt all summer but I've never bothered to put something in it. Not sure why. As hard as the rain came down yesterday, I was kind of surprised as I dug in this blue pot and found the dirt a half inch down was dry. I would have thought it would have been much moister. Is that a word? It is when I use it, I guess. At any rate, I put a little color into the blue pot.
Speaking of blue, I got my order from Dr. Leonard today. You ever seen that medical catalog? I'm not sure I've ever ordered from it before but I must have cause they keep sending it to me. It's mostly stuff for older folks. I ordered a round foam blue pillow to put between my knees when I sleep and/or behind my head in the recliner. Also got a pair of blue slippers. Always tricky buying shoe products through the mail as you just never know if they're gonna fit. I think these will work okay. I also bought this blue thing with a long handle that you put lotion in so you can apply it to your back. I'll try it out later to see if it works.
I made a quick run to the library as I wanted to pick up some audio books to listen to while I'm sewing. Surprised me just how light traffic was everywhere I went. Even pulling out onto the highway was easy. Must have something to do with today being the first day of school. Jen took a picture of the twins this morning. I imagine they both drove today. Doesn't really seem that long ago that they were starting kindergarten and then junior high.

I worked steadily on framing up some pictures for Christmas presents come December. I had a few 8x10 frames and one larger frame that I saved for myself. I hung it in the kitchen. It's the house I grew up in on Kuhn Street. Had it enlarged from a black and white print at the office supply store and then colored it with pencils and marking pens. I like it. The one I'm giving my siblings is a different view of the house but it's kind of cool too.
Came across a special on PBS last night that I was sure happy I caught. Showed The Highwaymen performing in at a 1990 show. Man, it took me back in time -- Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash, Kris Kristofferson, and Willie Nelson. Reminded me of how many singers I've loved are dead now. Willie and Kris are still around, of course, but there's Merle Haggard, George Jones, Conway Twitty, Elvis, Phil Everly, Sonny James, Ferlin Husky, Jerry Reed....
I entered three photos in this picture contest this morning. www.enjoypt.com
I think it runs through September and you're allowed three entries. Then you try to get your friends to vote online. Money's involved but I seriously doubt my three will win when I see the stuff others have put up. But I had to enter anyhow. Once I figure out how people vote, I'll be mentioning it here and on facebook to try and get votes.
Well, here comes the rain again. Weatherman says we can expect more this week and I'm fine with that. Thinking I might go take a nap now. I had an uneasy night half expecting those dang leg, foot, and toe cramps to make my life miserable. I sure do hope they're just passing through. I did go ahead and make a doctor appt for next Tuesday. No reason to put up with this nonsense if there's something that can be done to help it.
