Just took Sammy for a walk around the block. He was delighted to be able to stop and sniff where all the dogs who get to roam free have been. We started out by going through the back gate and down the alley. Halfway there, two large dogs started going berserk. I'm sure they're the assholes that wake me up every night! At first they began hopping up (with all their might) as the newly built wood fence is quite high. I wish I had thought to turn on my phone video. It was hilarious to see their heads pop up trying to see who we were. As we got closer, they reverted to the hole at the bottom where they could stick their snouts through and get another view. A lot of whining ensued as they so wanted to get out and smell Sammy's butt -- or eat him! I laughed. I sure was happy to get home again. Just another indication of how out of shape I've become. Like I needed a reminder. Ha!
Jenni took off to meet Hunter at the eye doctor where he's getting fitted for contacts. Then she has appt with her local doctor and then she'll drive across town to Walmart to get the prescriptions filled. Her and Wayne are meeting up to talk this evening when he gets off work. Yesterday she had an appt in Seattle with her neurologist but thankfully, her friend, Julie, drove her all the way in so I didn't have to contend with walking on those dang blasted ferries.
Looks like it's going to be a nice day. I'll spend it by staying inside. Ha! Want to try and make another 'house picture'. The one I made yesterday using gray and black material needs to have the house made smaller now that I see it completed. I was copying a picture and misjudged the dimensions. Think I might browse through Goodwill too to check out if they have any good cotton material in.
I plan on heading into Port Townsend one day next week. My brother has a birthday and my sister needs a visit too. Won't go this weekend because of the Wooden Boat Festival. Way too crowded.
Looked over my Town Kid blogs on the Leader website and think I'm going to take a break from them for a while. Maybe for good. Seems like my subjects started repeating themselves and I noticed the Leader didn't put my latest blog on the page where it was easily clicked on. Probably 'cause I criticized the paper in my last post. I've submitted about 80 articles over the last five years and I'm thinking I might edit them into a book. I always need a project.
My son's getting married tomorrow. Big fancy affair in downtown Seattle from what I've heard through the grapevine. He opted to exclude me from the guest list but then he hasn't had any contact with me in over four years. Who knows why. At any rate, he's making his own choices in life. Didn't invite his sisters, nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles or anybody on my side of the family. To say I'm disappointed in him is putting it mildly. I'm not particularly impressed with his father either, as he has chosen to encourage this bad behavior. But enough said on that subject. I'm not the first mother to be rejected by a spoiled son and I won't be the last. I'm moving on, and giving thanks that God blessed me with three great daughters and four wonderful grandchildren. Well, I got that off my chest. I think I needed to.
