Wayne and Hunter took the ramp off my front steps the other day and hauled it to the corner of the backyard. I put it on the "free website" this morning hoping I can find someone to come and pick it up. Seems a shame to just let it sit out all winter when somebody could use it. Let me know if you know of anyone. Here's my brother building it in 2013.
Jenni fixed a yummy dinner last night. The twins came over after their 'after school' activities.
Neither was willing to pose for any pictures, though. One thing I've found interesting with Jenni living here is the way she cooks and the things she cooks are so different from my way of cooking. We've discussed how both her and Mary don't really eat the same way they did when they lived with me and neither even prepare the food much the same way. Changing times, I guess. I love to have both of them cook for me. Way better. This for example....Jenni puts in pieces of rolled up tin foil in the bottom of her crockpot to hold the chicken (which she cooks spread out instead of whole like I would). I like her way better. She also uses spices so the house smells really good. I need to step up my game a bit.
Joyce Lee was telling me that she took her 18-year-old granddaughter to the casino the other day as she wanted to spend some time with her before she went off to college. There is one section where 18-year-olds can play the machines so Joyce gave her $20. She lost it right away but as they were leaving, Joyce gave her another $10 and her granddaughter won $268. Needless to say, she was thrilled.
Had to laugh last night when Mary posted this on Facebook:
Almost every night Jake and I cuddle in the glider as he
calms down before sleep. It's a favorite time of day for me. Tonight he finally
got out the wiggles and was quietly laying on me when I felt his fingers slowly
glide across my face and I hear him whisper "I no like this booger."
I picked up this neat little book for a dollar the other day (at the library gift shop) called 'Washington Trivia'. Decided it was a good way for me to share things on my blog and Facebook page. Like these:
What Washington cartoonist has had his work displayed in the Smithsonian Institution?
Answer: Gary Larson
What Washington newspaper won a Pulitzer Prize in 1981 for its coverage of the Mt. St. Helen's eruption?
Answer: The Longview Daily News.
What crime writer was once a detective in Seattle?
