It's trying to snow

I was sitting here working on my book and noticed out of the corner of my eye that the weather through my window looking "kinda funny."  Temperature gauge said it was 44 so I didn't think it was cold enough to snow but.... it's still trying.  Some snow/rain mix is falling now. Grabbed my camera and saw a little hummingbird out front.
Mary sent me this picture she took this morning on her deck. Jake seemed pleased with the stuff.
I was feeling pretty achy and stiff and blah all morning long but I pushed through it and I'm back on track now.  Went through a large box full of wrapping paper and sacks that I keep adding to through the years and I'm determined THIS YEAR to use up some of the supply.  I've got it all in one spot here in my office/sewing room so I plan on starting in tomorrow on the wrapping and sorting.

I was hoping to get into Port Townsend one day next week and if mother nature doesn't ruin my plans, I'll deliver some gifts then.  I'm riding with Wayne and Jenni at Christmas when we go to Renton overnight.  That takes care of the one worry I always manage to dwell on when I have to travel in winter.  Or anytime I have to go on the freeway really.  I'm such a weenie baby.

I've decided I probably won't make bread and cookies this year. Just too tiring (and it ain't cheap either!)  I will fix up a couple pans of fudge, though. Already bought the ingredients for that.  My diet is coming along okay.  I'm not doing anything real drastic. Just watching carbs. No bread and no sweets (well hardly any). Sometimes I screw up a tiny bit. Each night that I don't snack after supper I consider a good day.  Actually, that's the only time I seem to fall off the wagon.

I went to Safeway this morning and bought more veggies and some fruit. Also a head of romaine lettuce.  I cut it all up and put it in an airtight bowl to see if it might keep longer than it usually does.
I'll make salads nightly as I already have celery and carrot sticks cut up in baggies.  I've lost about 7 or 8 pounds so far, give or take.  Baby steps.

Man, it sure does get dark early.  But wait!  It is winter time, isn't it?  Duh....

Think I'll head to the living room with my embroidery thread. I saw this cute pattern I want to try and embroider. It doesn't look too hard.  Have a nice night.
