To the casino and home again

Picked up Joyce Lee and we headed to the casino to meet Linda, Joanne & Mary.  Visited over lunch and then proceeded to the gambling dens to try our luck.  The machine I like to play was in use so I headed to one like it in another aisle.  This is the game Wayne wins consistently on.  I didn't do much.
Went back to the machine once the lady left and decided to use up the rest of my money and see if I could win.  Put in $20 and walked away with $114 so that made me happy.

Traffic seemed heavy on the way home and I stopped at Safeway to battle more crowds. Decided to pick up some ham hocks as I haven't made beans in a long time.  Meat is so expensive, I have to  really think twice about what I choose. Besides the hocks, I picked up a roast that is big enough to cut in two and use for two meals in the crock pot.  Also bought some pork short ribs that I can package into at least three meals.

Jenni and Maddie are in Bellingham touring the college so I imagine she'll be pretty worn out tomorrow. Those trips are hard on her.  I was more or less useless yesterday as my right heel continued to remind me she's still in a snit!  That plantar fascitis can be a killer.  I did manage to do a little rearranging but I was super tired afterwards and ended up going to bed at 8:15.  Slept 11 hours too.

I wanted to make a corner of the kitchen into my office area so I have more room in  my sewing room. I like it.  Going to do some strip sewing this afternoon and once I have this batch done, I'll have 4 quilts that I need to put together with batting and backing.  Dreading the whole ordeal too.
Here's what I managed to push around yesterday.

The laundry room looks a lot tidier now that I've taken a second look around the house at what I can be storing in the garage instead of the house.

Nothing much on my calendar for the next three weeks. Plan on heading to PT for the Rhody Parade since my cousin, Ann, is traveling from Tacoma this year.  Also hope to meet up with Mary as she'll watching with her gang of friends with Jake. Their usual place is near the intersection of Monroe and Lawrence but I think Ann and I might watch near the Legion hall.

Sue's supposed to come over and do some weeding for me out front tomorrow. Will be nice to get that area cleaned up.  I actually like weeding and wouldn't mind doing it myself but my knees and back would kick a hissy fit over it.

Finished watching 'Better Call Saul' on Netflix so now I'm surfing around trying to find something else.  And with that, I guess I'll sign off. Not much going on around here. I'm playing with the idea of taking a nap.  I do that a lot these days.
