Been a halfway decent day so far. Got to sleep all night long in my bed and that's never taken for granted. Fixed some scrambled eggs & toast for breakfast, browsed the internet, and worked on my jigsaw a bit. Wanted to hit the three pawn shops in town to see if I could find some cheap VHS movies for my collection. I like having them on in the sewing room when I'm "creating." Goodwill has a big selection so I look them over from time to time. You usually see the same ones over and over and I'm kind of particular on what I'm willing to watch more than once.
None of the pawn shops had any (lots of DVDs though). One very large second hand store downtown had a bunch but nothing I wanted. Going to have to go back in there now and again as there's so much to look over. Mostly antiques but that's fun too. I was happy I was able to find a parking place right in front of the store and that's always a plus.
Gees, a big gust of wind just blew through. The tall trees I can see out my window are tilting back and forth. It was calm and quiet (even sunny) while I was running around. I headed across town to the Dollar Tree and spent $4. Always interesting to browse around in there and see what they've got. Joyce Lee called while I was there to tell me she was in this little thrift store down from her house and they had a ton of VHS.
I've passed that store a few times and always intended to stop and give it a looksee. I think it's the only thrift store around outside of Goodwill -- and sometimes their prices are just too "off the wall."
I ended up finding 8 pretty good movies, all for a dollar except one classic that was $2.
For Whom the Bell Tolls with Gary Cooper. The dollar ones included Misery, U-571, Follow the River, A beautiful mind, Bridges of Madison County, The Bishop's wife, and Call of the Wild. That ought to keep me busy for a while.
Decided as long as I was out, I might as well hit Safeway and get that done. Spent $22 and got three Monopoly tickets. I'm not playing but Jenni is so if you get any and don't want them, save them for her. Thanks.
My sewing projects right now consists of trying out various quilt square techniques. Of the four I made a couple days back, I think I prefer the one on the bottom right.
And I think that's about all I have for now. Suppose I should wash up the dishes before I hit the sewing room. Got a new can opener in the mail today. Not sure why I waited so long to replace the crummy one.
