Kinda' chilly out there!

I woke up at 6 and noticed the bedroom was way too cold. I turn off the heat at night. I got up to turn it on and crawled back under the covers hoping for another hour of sleep.  Looked at the temperature gauge and it said 38 outside and 58 inside.  Brrrrr...
It seems a lot harder for me to stay warm as I age.  Long underwear is routine attire during much of the winter season.  Sometimes I try to wear jeans when I get up but more often than not, I have to switch to sweat pants 'cause I just can't warm up. I've got a long underwear top on underneath my t-shirt right now but it's not one of my heavier tops and I'm thinking I'd best go grab a sweater.  Boring blog, right?  Sorry. It's all I got sometimes. (most of the time really)

Yesterday I found myself getting a little bored with the usual routine of working on quilt squares so I pulled out my large selection of "sewing books" and thought I'd look around to see what else I could find to play with.  Several of my applique books had directions for things I thought would suit me.  Like little pieces you could make up to sew on clothing or just have as small quilt blocks.  I'm going to start playing around with them today.

This animal quilt book really has some cute ideas. Kind of excited about experimenting with those.

Am thinking I might head up to Joanne Fabrics today and see how much they want for flannel.  Won't be as cheap as it was in the old days, of course. I'm in need of some better pj bottoms and I know they're super easy to make using a pair of bottoms I already have as a pattern.  On second thought, maybe I'll check out Walmart's prices first. They're always cheaper. Just need to find some flannel that is heavier than some of the stuff you find on the market these days.  Need to pick up some tulip bulbs too.
I'm wanting to get some planted in the raised beds in the backyard so springtime can be cheery.

Was so proud of myself yesterday for figuring out how to hook up my VCR to my large tv in  the living room.  I had it in my bedroom hooked to my other tv but I never watch in bed and there are some movies I have in VHS form that I really want to sit down and enjoy and not just having playing in the background while I'm sewing.

My living room/kitchen area is really "busy" right now.  I never have company anymore so I feel very comfortable just letting everything be "out" where I'm using it. My laptop is on the kitchen table and I switch it to the little red desk when I want to move my jigsaw puzzle on a board to the table (higher work space than the cardtable).
My exercise pedaler sits nearby in the one office chair that is handy to sit in when I'm using it. Okay. Which is seldom...but it's always there to remind me I'm lazy. ha ha

The living room has a large white triangle form pillow that I'm testing out as a foot rest in the brown recliner that I don't use as much but does have a firmer seat.  The footrest on the recliner is okay but not as comfortable as I'd like and if I decide I want to start sitting more upright to do cross stitch, I'll need to not put the recliner footrest up. Too uncomfortable for sewing. Is this making any sense? Probably not but I know what I mean.
My NY jigsaw (that is driving me crazy)
testing out the great white pillow
nighttime area for cross stitch and tv
                                                              my busy morning area

Well, I guess I've rattled on about absolutely nothing so far. Good place to stop. Below is a cartoon in the morning paper (that I always read). More of than not, I identify with it.  Like today. FOR SURE!  My damn hair!
