My Monday Outing in Port Angeles

Had kind of a fun morning today. Mary Norton drove up from Sequim for a medical appt and has another meeting at six so she opted to stay in town rather than drive back and forth.  We visited a bit and then I drove us over to Jenni’s house as Mary hadn’t seen it yet.

From there we drove down the hill and I stopped to take a picture of a huge pile of logs.

Mary had never been to Ediz Hook spit so I drove out there and got out of the car to shoot a photo of four large ships in the harbor.

From there we went to Bay Variety downtown as they’re going out of business and we wanted to see if we could find anything we needed. I bought a pretty red, white, and blue whirligig thingie to hang from the eave outside in the wind.  We then decided it was time for lunch so we headed to a place we hadn’t eaten in before. New Day Eatery.

I had an onion burger and she had tuna. Both with homemade chips. Pretty tasty. I brought half of mine home to have for dinner tonight with a bowl of soup.  I had the waitress take our picture and then I took one of how the restaurant used to look years ago when it was called Harringtons. Mary said her mom worked there for years.

A classmate of hers was there with his wife so I took a picture of him and Mary as he was leaving. (Ray Gruver)

Mary decided to go up to the library as she had paperwork to work on before her meeting but I told her to come back if she needed a place to crash before then as I don’t plan on going out anymore today.  I think I’ll head to my recliner for a little nap now. Didn’t sleep that great last night.
