On another note, the right thumb is now declaring her disgust with being attached to this body. If I didn't use her for so many things, I'd consider cutting her off to teach her a lesson. Just got a call from the sleep center in Sequim wanting me to make an appt. Like an idiot, I began to tell the appt maker person why I wondered if I needed to make an appt. A few sentences in, she tells me she's not medical personnel. Now why in the hell didn't I know that? Silly me. I suppose I just needed someone to talk to. I did make the assessment appt; Figured I might as well. It's not until the middle of July. My opinion is that I don't have sleep apnea that is causing my extreme fatigue. I have achy body parts that wake me up. Starting tonight I'm keeping a hour by hour journal of exactly what I do during the night. Meaning how long I sleep on the memory foam, wake up and transfer to the firmer mattress and/or recliner, and the various things I do to alleviate the hip pain that I can barely tolerate until I get off my feet again.
Oh lord! Please don't tell me a hip replacement is in order. NO! I never want to have another joint replaced. Ever! I'm still coping with the knee and shoulder and those were done in 2013 and 2014. I suspect a lot of these VERY NECESSARY naps I've been taking are age related. Well, that and the fact that my hips won't let me stay in bed. I remember my dad had to take naps both morning and afternoon and now that I think about it, my grandpa was always napping in his rocker too. Or was it a rocker? Maybe it was just a large leather chair. I'll have to think on that. Poor grandpa. Never got a recliner.
The high school alumni Saturday evening at the Elks Club in Port Townsend was fun. Well, fun to the point of I enjoyed seeing familiar faces. I used a walking stick this year and I still had to sit down often but.....I took 96 photos! Wore my wig too. And Jenni went with me so I got to introduce her to everyone. I loved that. Here's a picture someone took of us...
Here's a shot of the banquet room (before dinner started). A lot of folks were in the adjoining room and in special party rooms or on the deck.
Sharon Sofie wanted a picture of me,her, and Ruth or "the virgins of All-View" as we refer to ourselves sometimes. A name given us by a P.A. guy who used to visit us when we lived at All View Motel in Port Angeles back in 1962. We liked the name so we kept it all these years.
I didn't stay for the banquet so I missed out getting to see my cousin, Caleb Johnson, as emcee for the event. He's the grandson of my cousin, Susie. Here he is with his dad, Tyler Johnson.
I can't believe how fast those Johnson kids have grown. I've been keeping pictures in my "cousins" folder everytime I see one posted on Facebook. Here's another of his and his siblings. Aren't they just the cutest?
Joyce Lee rode in with me and Jenni. I laughed when she came out of her door and I realized we were dressed like twins. With my wig on, we did kind of look like twins. Ha!
You can see more photos on Facebook. Just go to my page and look for 2018 alumni album. We stopped at the casino for dinner. It was crowded but then we don't often go on Saturday night. Joyce and I both lost but Jenni won $100. I discovered when I went to write a check (and was declined) that the purse snatching I experienced last Easter is still affecting my life. I had to call a 1-800 number to re-establish credit with them. I had written checks years ago so I was wondering what was going on when they told me I could use my debit card but not a check. I went ahead and did that but it cost me $3.45 and I wasn't happy about that. They were already cleaning me out!
When we lived in Kirkland from 1968-73, our best friends were the Aragons. Mary and Zena were the same age and they hooked up for breakfast a few days go. Hadn't seen each other in 45 years so there was a lot of catching up to do. They were both glad they made the effort to connect. Me too.
Tomorrow I'm expecting Mike Logue and Molly Logan to stop in for a visit. The next day I'm going up to the high school with Jenni to take pictures of Maddie signing up for college at Central. Friday night is graduation but I'm opting to stay home because it's so hard to get around. It will be held at an outdoor stadium and there are no tickets --anybody can go. I imagine it will be crowded since Maddie and Hunter's class numbers 260.
The next day Jen and Wayne are hosting a party for them at their house. That will be fun. And I'll get to take a ton of photos. Catie has to work her jewelry booth in Kent that day but her and Brandon will drive over afterwards and stay the night with me.
Man, it's already 6 pm. Where did the day go? I had a roast and veggies cooking in the crockpot so I'm going to make up a little gravy and indulge.
