Busy Graduation Weekend

Had a great time at Maddie & Hunter's graduation party yesterday.  I posted on FB but will add them here too.
Hunter, Maddie, and Jake posing with Gramma. Catie didn't make it in  time as she was working at her craft fair in Kent but came along later.  Here's a picture of her and Brandon as they left this morning to head back.  Poor Brandon was sick with a cold.

Sue, Mary and Jen posing with Mom  (meaning me)
The cake, half white, half chocolate and sooooo good!
Hunter opening all his graduation cards. Both kids were flabbergasted with the amount of money they received. They had NO idea people would give so much.  I was happy for them.  That's his girl friend, Haley, sitting nearby
Getting his diploma at Civic Field on Friday night.  I took a picture on my tv of the kids streaming in.

That inflatable chair is one of the prizes Hunter won at the graduation party after graduation. All the senior won prizes, I think my drawing lots. I'll have to ask them how that worked.  He also got a tent and sleeping bag.
This is Maddie and her boyfriend, Shawn, at the party. He graduated Friday also.
This is one of the prizes Maddie won. It looks terrific. Below is the kayak she won.

Friends of the Doughertys -- Brett Bies and his daughter, Ashley
Julie Bies, holding cutie pie Reina, and  their son, Derek
Mary standing behind couch where Wayne's mother and sister are seated. Wayne is sitting on his father's day gift -- an old foot stool from his childhood that Jenni had reupholstered.  Sammy did remarkably well with a lot of people in house.
Wayne's mother, Darla Mitchell who also lives in Port Angeles
Lill and Dana are preparing to leave as Mary and Hunter look on.  Dana brought his 2nd book for me and I  can hardly wait to read it. Lill says it's really a page turner and keeps you in suspense.
Cravenstone 2: Time Whisperers by Dage Corvish (Dana's writing name)

When Jake arrived, he immediately climbed a tree.

Catie was nice enough to do some quick little chores for me this morning before they left.  I needed a hose attached outside and my arthritic thumb was causing me pain. She also helped me sweep out the garage.  It was soooooo dirty. And I appreciate the effort.
Hunter will be attending Universal Tech Institute near Phoenix. Got a total of $11,000
in scholarships.  He's car-caravaning down there in Aug with another guy so he'll have his car there.  Mary and Andy are flying down with him next month to look the place over. I'm just amazed kids can drive that far. I couldn't have done it at age 18 or age 74!
His school year is for ten months straight with no breaks but he'll learn all about diesel repair.  His employers gave him a '99 Chevy pick up for graduation.

Maddie signed up with Central in Ellensburg and will run track there next year. Below is a newspaper story that appeared in the P.A. paper recently.
And last but not least, thank you to Brandon who was nice enough to squirt some bee killer on several wasp nests I have growing under the eaves on the back deck.  Sometimes sitting out there can be nerve-wracking.

Not much on my agenda this week.  Got a quilt I'm ready to sew up around the edges so I can start another.  And I have to fill out some stupid paperwork to prepare myself for the sleep study I finally relented to have in Sequim.  My consultation isn't until the middle of July so I don't know exactly when I'll end up sleeping down there.  I personally think it's a waste of my time.  But if I end up being diagnosed with sleep apnea, I'll be the first to say I guess it's a good thing I went.  Right now, though, I'm not impressed with the idea.

Got a movie in from Netflix yesterday so I'll probably watch that this afternoon or evening. Only have a couple or so left in my queue so I'm thinking of stopping my membership for a while and just keep the streaming.  Although the streaming hasn't been much to brag about either.

I'm too tired (okay, too lazy) to go back and proof read this so if I made errors, sorry.
Have a good middle of June week.
