Jen & Wayne took Maddie to college in Ellensburg yesterday. Sorta. She drove her car and they followed, I believe. Anyhow, when they're going to be gone overnight, Sammy has to come to Gramma's house. He's probably not all that thrilled with staying here 'cause I won't let him sleep in my bed like they do. I got him a nice bed at a yard sale, though, and sometimes I even cover him up with the blanket that he likes. If I forget, he'll use his nose to pull the blanket up over himself to cuddle underneath.
I got up and fixed breakfast but he stayed put under the blanket until I actually sat down with food. Then he comes over to sit at my feet and stare at my mouth throughout the whole meal. My fault. I sometimes give him a bite from my plate (but not always) He didn't get any this morning 'cause all I had was coffee, a muffin, and some yogurt with All Bran sprinkled on top.
I set out his food but he never shows interest at the time. More than once I've heard him chewing away noisily after I've gone to bed. I went online and was reading the paper and Facebook, etc. when I decided to go see where he was. His bed was empty and I hadn't seen him go outside. I checked my walk-in closet as he often heads to the laundry basket to pull out damp towels or underwear so he can rub his nose on them. I think he has allergies as he does that outside sometimes, as well as on the carpet. I saw he had been there.
When I walked by my bed (which I had made when I got up) I saw he decided he really wanted to nap under my covers.
So I let him be -- for the time being anyhow.
I went back to my computer to print out a recipe I liked and the obit on George Huntingford (for my obit file). After a bit I looked up and saw Sammy out on the lawn.
The only way he can get out is through the sliding glass screen door which sits right next to my computer so I went back to my bedroom to check my bed again. All it was was bunched up blankets so I assume he crawled under there to "blow his nose" or whatever!
And that's my morning so far. Interesting, right? Oh well, it's all I got. Here's a few of my favorite pics taken over the years of the king of the roost.......
This is my favorite. Sammy watching Wayne cook hotdogs through the window. Makes me chuckle every time I see it.
