Was up early this morning. Body ached and wanted up and about. Nothing new there although some days it's annoying as hell as I'm still tired. I had put together the ingredients for bran muffins last night so I made up a quick batch this morning and threw in the oven. Just had one with my coffee. Tried to do the Saturday crossword on the Wash. Post website but often times the weekend ones are too tough for me and I give up.
I do crosswords daily. Enjoy them. It's what I do while eating and sometimes I won't leave the table until I've solved the entire puzzle. More often than not, though, I give up after a bit. My arm is aching to beat the band so I'm going to have to do my exercises early today. And probably have to do them twice daily from now on. Seems like my bicep muscle is not going to improve any too soon. Been putting up with this since the first of July. Waiting now for the physical therapy place to call and give me an appt. I put off going thinking I could fix this myself. I have a ton of diagrams and pictures and directions from when I had my other shoulder replaced. Certain exercises have become a little easier but the ones requiring I put my arms up over my head are still killers! I can only do them about ten times and I have to call it quits.
I started reading this library book I picked up yesterday. Caroline's Daughters by Alice Adams. I could tell from the first few pages that it was something I was going to like. I also decided that I was going to stop and write down every word I came across that I didn't know the definition of. This may or may not continue, however, as I already had to look up half a dozen words and going through the dictionary is a slow process sometimes. Maybe I'll find the website where you can just type a word and it will tell the definition. Some words I "kind of" knew but wasn't positive about. Like....ambiguos, atavistic, unpropitious, prescient, quintessential, expatriate....
Phone rang early this morning from a woman coming by to pick up something I put on the Clallam County free website. I rearranged the sewing room yesterday and wanted to dispose of this large wood spool holder that I've had for years. My thread collection is down to an amount where just storing them in a drawer is sufficient. I had about 4 or 5 replies and the lady coming this morning is bringing me some apple pie filling she canned in exchange. So I guess I'll be making a pie one of these days.
I walked outside to mail a letter and it is definitely chilly out there. The sun is coming out, however, so I guess the day will be nice enough. I hope it's nice tomorrow when I have to drive into Hadlock and Port Townsend. Not too much on my agenda today. Sewing mostly. I fixed fish for supper last night and there was enough to make two meals out of it so that's the plan.
Tried to find something of interest on tv but nothing caught my attention. That happens every now and again. I need to give up sooner than I do and just pick up a book. Well, my hands are like ice so I better get moving and do a few chores (and those damn exercises).
