Sunday Morning

Up at 5 a.m. (not my idea) and did a little of this and that before going back to my recliner for a two-hour nap. I must say my days have changed over the years.  I'm sitting here in my "office/sewing room" with Pandora music playing the oldies. I just finished my shoulder exercises and need to push myself to do them twice a day with no slacking.  Achiness and pain still present so I'd better stick with the program or suffer the consequences.

Jenni invited me to dinner Friday night. She was making Maddie's favorite taco casserole with cornbread topping. Delicious! Only problem was my feet swelled up later so I guess I'm going to have to pay more attention to my salt intake.  If it's not swollen ankles, it's screwed up bowels. Oh joy!  Was interesting to be there when Maddie arrived.  She cried when she hugged us. And she made comments for the next hour that would make you think she'd been gone for years.... like....
I like that clock you hung on the wall...Sammy has more gray hair since I left....my bathroom looks like Mary's bathroom -- all set up with stuff company would use.

Yep. I think she was definitely feeling some homesickness.  She drove over four hours from Ellensburg because she needed to get her hair done and it was "way cheaper" here. She brought a ton of laundry and she's leaving again this morning but will turn around again later this week to come home for Thanksgiving. She'll pick Hunter up at the airport and even said she was looking forward to seeing him and talking on the way home.

I was the same way when I was that age. College was in Port Angeles and we went home to PT every weekend to wash clothes and stock up on groceries.  Once Sharon Sofie and I moved to Portland Oregon, we took the bus or train way too often to Seattle or Tacoma for hookups back to town. Mainly because we were homesick and didn't want to miss any parties. HA! A couple years later when I was traveling from San Diego back to PT while my husband was being transferred to sea, I remember commenting on how green everything was. And I'd only been in southern CA for six months. Always was a small town girl I guess.

I went to breakfast with Jen, Wayne, and Maddie yesterday. It was kind of  a treat as I seldom go out for breakfast.
Afterwards Jen and I went to a craft sale. I ended up buying a book by an older lady here in P.A. She had four books but they were $10 and $16 a piece so I opted just for one.  She lives not too terribly far from me and was very proud of the fact that her books weren't self-published.  I laughed and told her I had half a dozen self-published books as I knew I wasn't going to get in print otherwise.  Her name is Louise Lenahan Wallace.

Mailman brought me a book a couple days ago that I ordered on the recommendation of my physical therapist. Called Dynamic Aging. Written by an older woman in Sequim and four of her friends in CA.  Basically it's about exercising the proper way.  I'm going to start chapter one today and knowing me, I'll "think" about doing what the pages say. ha ha

As I was riding along in the car with Jenni, I was telling her about this new show I was watching on Netflix called Bodyguard.  It has six episodes and was pretty good except it was hard to understand sometimes. (those English talk funny)  I also told her I was disappointed it was devoting too much time to sex scenes.  She laughed and said:  I've watched you watching those sex shows and you like them!  I told her I DO NOT! They irritate the hell out of me.  I prefer violence.  ha ha ha ha ha

Got a picture on my phone this morning of Jake finding a coconut in Costa Rica. They're gonna have so much fun down there.
Kitchen mess continues. Two loud fans and one large humidifier are running around the clock with my room temperature cranked to 80.  I stay in the three bedrooms with the doors closed. Each room has something in it to occupy me so it's not all that bad; just noisy.  I'm hoping they'll be removed tomorrow and the new carpenter will come this week to reattach the cabinet.
My dreams continue to take me down dark roads every night.  Last night I was on a ferryboat again. Ferries have shown up in my dreams for several years. I'm either trying to catch one or get off one.
Last night I was on my bike and they wanted me to pay $40 for a ticket. Ernie Gunn said he'd drive me to town as I was planning on pedaling there all the way from Bainbridge and I was worried about it getting dark and I didn't have a light.  Then Irene and Louie Sofie showed up and they were telling me where I needed to go.  It went on and on.  Stupid dreams!

Well, I've got at least one letter to write today and then I'm setting up the sewing machine to occupy myself. Might pull out my paints too as I brought in a few more rocks to play around with.
